Community Garden Update:

We were able to get a lot planted in the community garden this season, and we’re excited to watch everything grow over the coming months. This space is becoming a place where neighbors can connect, learn, and enjoy the rewards of growing together.

Harvest Days will take place throughout July through October, giving families and community members the opportunity to enjoy fresh, locally grown produce including eggs from The Golden Girls while celebrating the hard work that went into creating this garden. Thank you to everyone who volunteered so far, donated, and supported this project.

We can’t wait to share the harvest with you!

The Wine Cap mushrooms have officially started popping up in our backyard garden!

Also known as King Stropharia, Wine Caps are one of the easiest mushrooms to grow in garden beds and wood chip pathways. They help break down organic matter, improve soil health, and create a thriving ecosystem for plants. Many gardeners even call them “garden giants” because they can grow surprisingly large.

One of my favorite things about Wine Caps is that they work while they grow. They help recycle nutrients back into the soil, support beneficial microbes, and can even improve moisture retention in the garden.

Nature is doing what nature does best. Every season brings a new surprise, and today it came in the form of these beautiful mushrooms emerging right in the backyard. 🍄🌱

Perfect for a garden update that mixes education with excitement.

Kindness Rocks event was a success! The children had a great time!! They all did an amazing job painting the rocks with kind words and pictures. We hope to see you at the next event!
