More Than What’s on the Outside

We live in a world obsessed with appearances.

How you look.
How you dress.
How people see you.

But God has always been after something deeper.
🎤🎤🎤
“Don’t forget that you Gentiles used to be outsiders… You were called ‘uncircumcised heathens’ by the Jews, who were proud of their circumcision, even though it affected only their bodies and not their hearts.” — Ephesians 2:11 (NLT)

People were judging worth by an outward sign, but outward appearance was never the true evidence of belonging to God. 🤔

Then he reminds us:

“In those days you were living apart from Christ… You lived in this world without God and without hope. But now you have been united with Christ Jesus. Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to him through the blood of Christ.” — Ephesians 2:12–13 (NLT)

What changed?

Jesus.
✝️❤️
God isn’t impressed by appearances or performances.

You can look the part and still be far from Him or look broken to the world and be deeply known by God.📣

What matters most is the heart.❤️

Because being brought near to God doesn’t happen from outward change….

It starts inward, through Christ.🙌

Grace Changes Everything

Grace is one of the hardest things for us to truly understand. 🤔

Because we’re so used to trying to earning everything…..

Earn approval.
Earn love.
Earn second chances.

But God offers Grace.
🎤🎤🎤
“God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.” — Ephesians 2:8 (NLT)

Grace is getting what you could never earn.‼️

It’s mercy when you failed.
Love when you didn’t deserve it.
A second chance when you should’ve been counted out. 👏👏👏

That doesn’t mean grace excuses sin—
it means grace gives you the opportunity to turn from it. 💪

Jesus didn’t come for perfect people.
He came for broken people willing to surrender.📣

So if you feel disqualified… ashamed… too far gone…..

Remember

God’s grace is greater than your past.

You don’t clean yourself up for Jesus.

You come to Jesus…
and He begins changing you.

Eyes on Jesus 👀

Peter did something impossible…

He walked on water.
💧
Not because Peter was powerful, but because Jesus called him out of the boat.
🎤🎤🎤
“Yes, come,” Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus.” — Matthew 14:29 (NLT)

But then something changed…..
🎤🎤🎤
“But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. ‘Save me, Lord!’ he shouted.” — Matthew 14:30 (NLT)

The moment Peter shifted his focus from Jesus to the storm around him… fear took over. 😔

How often do we do the same?
🤔
We start in faith…then life gets loud.

Bills. Fear. Bad news. Anxiety. Distractions.

And suddenly, we’re focused more on the waves than the One who called us.

The storm didn’t sink Peter.

Taking his eyes off Jesus did.
