There’s nothing like a fresh morning feed with a new group in the woods.

Our latest batch of purebred Berkshire pigs is settling in just right—healthy, active, and already enjoying the routine.

This is where quality pork starts.
Good genetics. Clean environment. Daily care you can see.

We raise our pigs the right way so you can feel confident about what’s on your table.

“Is a Pork Share Too Much for My Family?”

One of the biggest concerns we hear:

“That sounds great… but that’s probably too much meat for us.”

A half share typically lasts a family several months depending on how often you cook at home.

It’s not all bacon and chops at once — it’s:

Breakfast sausage
Roasts for slow cookers
Ground pork for weeknight meals
Chops for the grill

Instead of buying pork every week at the store, your freezer becomes your “grocery store.”

If you’ve been on the fence, this might be more doable than you think.

August–September availability.

Raising pigs isn’t glamorous.

It’s early mornings.
Moving fence in the heat.
Checking water in the cold.
Hauling feed.

But it’s also incredibly rewarding.

Watching them root and grow on pasture reminds us why we do it.

We don’t raise pork the easy way.
We raise it the right way.

Late summer shares (August–September) will be available.

For us, this isn’t just about selling pork.

It’s about:
• Raising food we’re proud to feed our own family
• Teaching our kids where food comes from
• Building something honest and local

When someone buys a share from us, they’re not just buying meat. They are getting peace of mind that what they are eating and what their family is eating is as good as it gets.

Shares available late summer.

02/14/2026

Just a reminder — we will have limited pork shares available in August–September.

We currently only have 6 out of 24 half shares remaining.

Worried you don’t have freezer room? Talk to friends and family and split a share!

What is a pork share”

If you’ve never bought farm pork before, here’s how it works:

You reserve a whole or half pig.
It’s processed and cut to your preference.
Your freezer gets stocked with chops, roasts, bacon, sausage, and more. Half shares (pictured) will be around 80-100 pounds of meat. Whole shares will be around 160-200 pounds of meat.

Simple. Transparent. Local.

Shares available late summer (Aug–Sept). Send a message if you are interested!

Why do we raise pork?

Most pork in the grocery store comes from pigs raised indoors on concrete or in close confinement facilities. Although this allows customers to buy cheap pork, it does not give you great pork.

At Daybreak Farm & Gardens, our pigs are raised outdoors with fresh air, room to move, and a natural diet.

We believe you should know:
• Where your meat came from
• How it was raised
• Who raised it

We also welcome anyone who is interested in purchasing our pork to schedule an appointment to see how our pigs are raised so you can compare. You will find that our pigs live a great stress free life, which in turn allows us to offer what we feel is the best tasting pork you will ever have!

Pork shares coming August–September. Due to high demand we have limited shares left.

Message us if you want to be on the list.

🐖 Half Share of Pork — Real Weights, Real Cuts, Real Cost 🐖

We believe in being completely transparent about what you’re buying when you purchase a ½ share of pork, so here’s a real example from a recent pig we processed.

🧮 Understanding the Weights

• Live Weight – the weight of the pig on the hoof
• Hanging Weight – weight after harvest with hide, blood, and organs removed
• Take-Home Weight – the final, packaged cuts that go into your freezer

👉 The pig this share came from had a 233 lb hanging weight
👉 This ½ share yielded 92 lbs of finished, take-home pork

⸝

💰 Cost Breakdown

• Total cost: $582.50
• Total take-home weight: 92 lbs
• Final price per pound: $6.33/lb (averaged across all cuts)

That per-pound price includes raising the animal, processing, smoking/curing, and vacuum-sealed, freezer-ready packaging.

⸝

📦 Actual Cut Breakdown (92 lbs total)

Here’s exactly what came home in this half share:

• Sausage – 5.8 lbs
• Fresh Pork Picnic Roast – 6.06 lbs
• Pork Feet – 3.54 lbs
• Boston Butt Roast – 7.98 lbs
• Bone-In Pork Chops – 15.12 lbs
• Pork Hocks – 4.1 lbs
• Leaf Lard – 1.72 lbs
• Neck Bones – 1.38 lbs
• Scrapple – 11.5 lbs
• Sirloin Roast – 1.74 lbs
• Smoked Bacon – 7.16 lbs
• Smoked Ham Roast – 21.86 lbs
• Spare Ribs – 3.34 lbs
• Tenderloin – 1.2 lbs

⸝

Buying a share means you’re getting a variety of premium cuts, not just one or two items, all from one locally raised pig you can trust.

If you have questions about pork shares, freezer space, or how the numbers work—just ask. Transparency matters. 🐷
