Dick Dutkiewicz passed away 15 years ago on Dec 17, 2006. Rusty joined him just 6 weeks ago. They were a very busy couple; active in community events, church events, political events, ... they also grew Dick's Food Market into the establishment that it is today, ... raising 7 kids along the way.

Leppinks has this announcement on their page. How cool to be entrusting the Dutkiewicz family's grocery store legacy (est. 1955) into the hands of the Leppink family with their legacy (est 1928). Whether you think of it as an ending or a beginning, we mark this as a milestone for the community of Dorr.

We are very excited to announce that we are going to be opening a new store location in Dorr! For those familiar with Dorr, we will be located where Dick's Market is. We will be operating as Leppinks Food Centers on September 13th.
Dick's Food Market is known for their Sausage Shop and signature bratwurst. We will be keeping the brand "Dick's Sausage Shop" and the bratwurst recipes will remain the same. We hope to bring the sausage program to our other stores as well!

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Brat Cookout with Steve drumming in the hot sun with the Tricks band. The photos show everyone huddled in the shade, while the band is getting roasted in the sun. The mighty (mighty old, that is) Tricks band only managed about 5 or 6 songs in a row before we had to head indoors for a few minutes in the cooler to get our body temps down below heat-stroke levels. The heat also kept the crowd numbers down, although we still managed to sell nearly 600 brats on buns. Yum!! Farewell party for Steve. Thanks for the many kielbasa and brat cookouts over the years! We expect Leppinks to continue the cook-out tradition - probably not with the loud Tricks band, though. :-)
