Even in the middle of the busy season, farmers make time to share, learn, and connect. 🌱

Yesterday was one of those days that reminds us how much agriculture is built on community and knowledge-sharing.

Farmer Dave started the afternoon by taking our new international interns and staff on a full tour of the farm and operations from seeding to harvest, with plenty of stories, tools, innovations, and hard-earned tricks of the trade along the way.

Then in the evening, we welcomed members of the Essex County Fruit Growers Association and UMass Extension for a walk through our perennial fruit plantings. Together we talked blueberry pruning, timing of common pathogens, strawberry planting methods, apple thinning for consistent annual harvests, and raspberry production in unheated high tunnels.

No matter how long you’ve been farming, there’s always something new to learn and something valuable to share. We’re grateful for opportunities like these to slow down for a moment and spend time with other thoughtful, experienced growers. 🍓🫐🍎

🍂 It might feel early to talk about fall, but we’re already starting to book our school and community fundraisers for the season ahead.

One of the things we love most about these fundraisers is how connected they feel to the community. Local schools and organizations raise money, families get to enjoy something from the farm, and the support stays close to home.

We’ll once again be offering pie fundraisers, fudge fundraisers, and apple picking fundraiser opportunities this fall.

If your PTO, team, or community group is thinking about fall planning, feel free to reach out. We’d love to work together again this season 🍎🥧

We’ve got a couple of updates for our Little Sprouts Storytime!

First, we’ve added more tickets to each date and added Thursday, June 11th so we can welcome even more families. We started out a little cautiously to make sure the experience felt fun, comfortable, and manageable for everyone and it’s clear we’ve got room for more little friends to join the fun!

We’ve also added a waitlist feature for anyone hoping to attend if tickets are sold out.

Today we pause to remember and honor the men and women who lost their lives in military service, and to recognize the families and loved ones who continue to carry their memory forward.

Memorial Day weekend often brings the start of summer traditions. It marks the start of time outdoors, meals shared together, gardens growing, and long-awaited gatherings with family and friends. We hope alongside those moments there is also time for reflection and gratitude for the sacrifices made by so many service members and their families.

The farm stand is your one-stop shop for the whole weekend, whether you’re planting the garden, refreshing the porch pots, or getting ready to host the BBQ.

The greenhouse is packed with beautiful flowers, hanging baskets, veggie starts, and herbs, while the farm stand shelves are loaded with everything you need for the cookout too.
