🌱LAST WEEK TO REGISTER: 2026 Dubuque County Master Gardener Training 🌱

If you love gardening, want to deepen your horticulture knowledge, and are interested in giving back to the community, this program may be a great fit for you!

🌿 Training details:

📅 Tuesdays, September 1–November 3
⏰ 6:00 p.m.
📍 Locations throughout the Dubuque area
💲 $175 training fee

Each week, participants will learn at a location connected to the lesson, such as a local orchard, the Dubuque Arboretum, or a county park. The program also includes online, university-based horticulture education designed specifically for Iowa gardeners.

Participants complete 40 hours of garden-related volunteer service by December 1, 2027, before receiving their Master Gardener Certification.

Applications are due Friday, August 14!!

Winter Market wraps up the season this weekend, Saturday April 25!

Next weekend, Dubuque Main Street will takeover for the outdoor Dubuque Farmers' Market season.

Thank you to Four Mounds Foundation and Inn & Conference Center, Kennedy Mall, our staff members, dedicated volunteers, and Wicked River Event Production for making fresh healthy local foods available for another winter season!

🌳 HAPPY ARBOR DAY, DUBUQUE

Arbor Day is a day dedicated to planting and caring for trees. This tradition actually started in the Midwest - in Nebraska in 1872, when J. Sterling Morton encouraged communities to plant trees across the prairie-lands.

On that first Arbor Day alone, over a million trees were planted 🌱

Today, it’s a reminder of how much we depend on the land around us: trees that clean our air, provide shade, support wildlife, and play a role in growing the food we all eat!

At the Dubuque Winter Farmers Market, that connection is at the heart of everything we do. From the farmers planting seeds to the bakers, makers, and producers bringing their goods to your table and it all starts with strong roots and a whole lot of care 💚

And as we celebrate Arbor Day… we’re also wrapping up a season rooted in that same spirit!
