Tomorrow marks the return of the Dunn Farmer's Market.
Back in 1952, thousands packed downtown Dunn for the Town & Country Festival. The Daily Record said the purpose of the festival was “to demonstrate the friendly interest of the people of Dunn in their rural neighbors.” Let's keep that idea going!
The Daily Record said several thousand folks attended, despite repeated rain. 🌧️ We hope a little rain ☔️ won’t keep folks away tomorrow!
The festival included farm exhibits, music, contests, a Cotton Queen, and a parade through town. The NC Commissioner of Agriculture rode in the parade.
Young Dunn High School mascots La Rue Draughon & Mark Johnson rode in the parade as well.
While you’re downtown visiting the Farmers Market, stop by the Dunn Area History Museum in the historic Prince’s Department Store building, just down from the market.
