We’re adding a little friendly competition to the farm this fall with our Cannon Farms Scarecrow Contest! 🍂

Families, businesses, schools & 4-H groups, we want to see what you can create!

🌾 Build your scarecrow at home
🎃 Bring it to Cannon Farms on Saturday, October 10th, 9am and we will get it set up and ready for voting!
🍂 Scarecrows will be displayed throughout the weekend
🗳️ Visitors will vote for their favorite
🏆 Winner will be drawn Sunday at 2 PM and will receive a Cannon Farms gift card!

Make it funny, farm-themed, cute, creative…We can’t wait to fill the farm with scarecrows this fall! 🧡🌾

🎃 Pumpkin Patch Progress! 🎃

The pumpkins are growing, but Mother Nature has definitely been keeping us on our toes lately! 🌧️

While our crops need rain, too much rain can make growing pumpkins extremely challenging. All that extra moisture creates the perfect environment for diseases to develop and spread through the field. Saturated soil and constant moisture also put stress on the plants, and sometimes those beautiful little pumpkins we get excited about will abort, rot, or simply fall off the vine before they ever have the chance to grow.

That’s farming, you can do everything you can to take care of a crop, but at the end of the day, Mother Nature always gets the final say. ❤️

We’re continuing to scout the fields, protect the plants the best we can, and watch these pumpkins grow. There are already lots of little pumpkins hiding underneath those vines, and we’re praying for a little sunshine and some drier days ahead! ☀️🎃🌱

Every pumpkin that makes it to our patch this fall has a whole lot more behind it than most people ever realize. ❤️🚜
