Come on out and get to know some of Durham’s best farmers and food makers – we offer plenty of parking, breakfast coffee and pastries, local music, and our incredibly popular Kids’ Tent.

SoDu is committed to increasing equity within the community and local agriculture. Through scholarships for Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color (BIPOC) applicants, the market helps reduce financial barriers associated with joining the market, creating opportunities for a more diverse and representative community of farmers and food entrepreneurs. We are also active participants in the Triangle Double Bucks programs allowing community members with SNAP or other government assistance to double the funds for fresh, healthy foods at market.

Please consider supporting these programs and our market by donating to the link in our bio!

A defining feature of South Durham Farmers Market is our role as an incubator for new beginning and growing farm businesses. The market provides an accessible pathway for beginning farmers and food entrepreneurs to develop successful businesses, build customer relationships, and grow sustainable income, and can eventually stay while building their brand to new hard to enter markets. Through our cooperative vending model, vendors can share and sell their product in the same booth, making market participation more affordable and accessible for small farms that may not otherwise have the capacity to attend every week or not enough produce for a full booth alone. This innovative approach lowers barriers to entry while strengthening collaboration among local producers.

Donate to our campaign to allow us to continue supporting small farms, new farms, and growing farms! Link in bio.

The South Durham Farmers’ Market is intentional and is in cooperative practices in its governance. The market is governed and led by vendors, ensuring that farmers have a direct voice in shaping policies, programs, and the future of the organization. This farmer-led model keeps decision-making grounded in the real needs of agricultural producers while fostering a collaborative, supportive community.

Please consider donating to our campaign to raise $2,000 to keep our market thriving. Link in bio.

The South Durham Farmers Market is more than a place to buy local food. It is a farmer-founded, vendor-led nonprofit organization dedicated to building a resilient local food system by investing in the people who grow our food. Every Saturday, the market connects residents with fresh, locally produced food while creating meaningful economic opportunities for small farms, food businesses, and craft vendors across the Triangle. As a producer-only market, every vendor grows or creates what they sell, ensuring that customer dollars directly support local farmers and makers. Our mission is rooted in preserving farmland, supporting sustainable agricultural practices, expanding access to local food, and creating a vibrant community gathering space.

Please consider donating to our market during this special National Farmers’ Market Week fundraising campaign or become a SoDu Sustainer recurring donor.
