It’s been a while since I’ve posted an update on raising guineas, so here we go.
The guineas are doing great. Yes, they’re loud. Their noises are obnoxious, but honestly, they don’t scream all day like people think. I hear my rooster way more than I hear the guineas. The only time they really crank up the volume is at bedtime — they call the whole flock in like they’re running roll call. I just tell them to go to bed, and they shut up and run inside.
Raising guineas with chickens has definitely made things easier. They stick close to the property because they follow the flock, and even though they want absolutely no human interaction, they also don’t set off the alarm with Sly Dog. They were raised around him from day one, so he’s just part of their world.
Overall, raising guineas has been… interesting. But in a good way. I might keep this little chaos crew around — maybe even add more in the future.

🌿 Garden season officially wrapped! The garden is prepped, the tools are stored, and I’m reflecting on a season full of growth—literally and figuratively.
