On today's adventure of being a maple syrup producer. We found our pump house under water! The extractor went into emergency mode and kicked on the pump to drain it. This way the extractor will float in the water.

On a plus note, only a pvc fitting broke for the vacuum line. We took a "clean" sock and stuffed it into the broken piece. This sealed it up until tomorrow morning.

We are sad to hear the passing of Vic McCarty. We were blessed to have know him and were lucky enough to do a couple interviews. What a great guy and I know he loved his job. Many condolences to his family and know he will forever be apart of our maple syrup story.

Where have we been?

A little over a month ago Josh was offered a job to work for our State Senator John Damoose. This has been a dream come true for him. But it also put us in a pickle for the maple syrup company.

With little time to spare, our oldest Son has taken over the operation. While we are way behind, we finally got one of our woods done today. We know it wont be a record season, but it will also be a learning year for our son.

We look forward to the next generation taking over. We are hoping he will take this late start and still walk away with a good season. Here's to over 400 years of maple syrup in our families veins!
