Blossom Creek farm has new owners!
This is the last post from Mary and Scott. (See the end of this post if you would like to remain in touch.)
Six years ago we purchased this farm from Mr. Gary Vogley, who’d devoted much of his life to it, even on top of a day job. He had settled on blueberries as the primary crop - after growing apples, peaches, and even strawberries. We lovingly re-named our farm ‘Blossom Creek Farm’ and devoted ourselves to building it up, with countless hours of hard work and determination.
We have been proud of our efforts, and loved this farm, but changes have meant it is time to move on. Scott “retired” back in 2020 right before our first season, which means he has not retired exactly… so it's time.
The new owners have assured us that it is their intent to keep the blueberry operation running, which I know is of the utmost importance to you, the devoted customers of this farm! THAT was of utmost importance to us.
This has not been easy, particularly for me, as I love the peace of the countryside and have always loved blueberries, since we picked them as kids in Michigan. I never seem to have a shortage of dreams and possibilities, but I do run short of time for implementing all I’d love to make happen! There is much to love about the farm, but mostly we've loved getting to chat and know you. You are BCF’s biggest blessing, and we will miss you all greatly.
I will continue to garden but at our home as I did in the past. I may even have some raspberry jam in surplus to sell, so see below for a way to find out! And Scott will still have grass to mow.
This page (and Instagram) are now being transferred to the new owners, so, if for any reason you would like to keep in touch with me/us, please search Facebook for ‘Mary’s Blossoms, Jams, and Musings’ - which is a private Group page I just set up from my own profile page, specifically for anyone who knew us from the farm to join to remain in touch. Find it on FB, request to be added, and after answering three simple questions (to keep things kosher), I will add you to the page, at which time you can post to the group. Postings will be private to the page.
Wishing you all the very best in your lives. Thank you for supporting our efforts at Blossom Creek Farm for the past five years. We have every confidence you will continue to love picking blueberries at the farm!
~Wishing you peace, Mary, Scott, & Michael
