🌱 A Little Vegetable Reality Check… 😂🐝
We hear it from customers all the time:
“Why isn’t your produce bigger and more perfect?”
“Why does your stuff smell like a vegetable?” 😂
And honestly… we love those questions because they give us a chance to explain what we believe.
Here at the farm, we believe God created things the way He wanted them created. What may look like a blemish, a mark, an odd shape, or a smaller-than-average vegetable to our eyes is still perfect in His eyes. It’s exactly how He made it.
And that’s why we try really hard to let nature do what nature does.
We don’t like spraying chemicals just to make something look prettier, bigger, shinier, or more “perfect.” Around here, the only time we really want to reach for a chemical is when we’re about to lose a crop to something we absolutely do NOT want around. 😂
And there’s a pretty good reason you’ll see—and hear—so many bees around here. 🐝
When we’re picking zucchini and squash, you can walk up to a plant and suddenly realize you’ve got an entire bee convention happening right in front of you. 😂 They’re everywhere, buzzing around, doing their jobs, pollinating and working away.
They don’t bother us… unless you accidentally grab one. 😳
Then they make it very clear that they have boundaries. 😂🐝
But seriously, watching them work is one of the coolest parts of being on the farm. It’s amazing to watch how they communicate, pollinate, work together, and play their part in creation.
So yes, sometimes our vegetables have a little character.
Sometimes they’re crooked.
Sometimes they’re small.
Sometimes they have a blemish.
Sometimes they smell like an actual vegetable. 😂🌱
And we’re okay with that.
Because we’d rather have something that looks like God made it than something that looks like it came out of a factory.
Perfect doesn’t always mean pretty. Sometimes perfect means exactly the way God intended it to be. ❤️
And we’ll keep doing our best to grow it that way.
