Happy Cinco De Mayo! Here are a few tasty tidbits about some of our beloved Mexican-American grub!

Apparently, humans go crazy for corn tortillas - we're talking 12 to 15 million metric tons of corn crazy, with most of it being nommed in Mexico and Central America.

And guess what? IT'S NATIONAL SALSA MONTH! Because who doesn't need an excuse to drown their snacks in deliciousness?

There are over 200 varieties of chilies in Mexico, because one type of spicy just isn't enough, ranging from smoky chipotles to fiery habaneros.

Today March 8th is International Womans Day!
(And 12 days until Spring!)

Women farmers comprise 36% of Michigan's agricultural producers, with over 24,000 female operators managing nearly 3 million acres and generating a $232.2 million economic impact.

Notably, while the total number of farms decreased, the representation of female producers expanded substantially, increasing from 8,275 to 26,059 between 2007 and 2017.

The Edmores Farmers Market is looking for farmers and venders for the 2026 market season! We run from the second weekend In June until the second weekend in October on Saturdays from 10-2.
