Good News Farm is a Certified Organic farm located in Cedar Lake, Michigan about 30 minutes south-west of Mt Pleasant. We grow year round inside a one-acre greenhouse and use several high tunnels and fields during the warmer months. We work with Great Lakes Adventist Academy to employ high school students as part of our labor force. The students gain real work experience, growing and gardening exp
erience, and the importance healthy, fresh food. They the students use the money earned to help pay for their tuition. What does Veganically Grown Mean? We grow without the use of animal products (manures, blood, bone or fish meals, etc.) and uses strictly plant-based materials. This type of growing decreases the potential risk of contamination from animal-related diseases & doesn't introduce the hormones & other things fed animals that could have negative impacts to the environment & our health. Everything we grow is Certified Organic. Growing certified organic means that not only do we use only NON-GMO seeds, but we also stay away from pesticides and chemicals. These things have been linked to serious health risks, so when you choose to use organic you are protecting yourself and your customers from a whole host of potential health risks! Why Local? We grow in a greenhouse and high tunnel structures, which means that even in the middle of winter you can buy flavorful, fresh, local, produce. When it comes to nutrients you are up against the clock. As soon as produce gets picked it starts loosing the amazing nutrients that our bodies need. When you buy from our farm your produce is picked 1-2 days before it is deliver to you. You cannot get much fresher without having your own garden or farm.
