The Effingham Farmers Market family would like to extend our thoughts, prayers, and support to everyone in Effingham and the surrounding counties who have been affected by the recent tornadoes and severe weather.

Many families are facing difficult days ahead as they assess damage, begin cleanup efforts, and help neighbors in need. During times like these, we are reminded just how strong our communities truly are.

We have seen firsthand that when challenges arise, our small towns come together. Neighbors help neighbors, strangers become friends, and communities rally around those who need support the most.

We love plants that look pretty and help around the patio too 🌿 A few we like keeping nearby to cozy up to:

🦟 Lemongrass has that strong citrusy scent mosquitoes don’t seem to love.
🌱 Basil is easy to grow and useful in the kitchen too.
💜 Lavender does best in sunny spots with soil that drains well.
🌼 Marigolds are great around garden edges and containers.
🌿 Peppermint smells amazing, but I always keep it in a pot because it spreads fast.

These plants won’t erase every mosquito, but they can make outdoor spaces feel a little more comfortable.
