Good Evening Friends!

We are super close to 1,000 followers! Since this is so exciting for us and because we wouldn’t be here without YOU, we believe it’s time for a raffle!

Right now-like this post and for as many friends-separately that you share this with, we will enter your name into a raffle for 5 mystery dahlia tubers. We will even cover the cost of shipping if you aren’t local!

Make sure you also follow us by hitting the follow button. Yes, this sounds weird but you’d be surprised at how many people think they follow us but don’t actually!

Tomorrow at noon, we will announce the winner so you can gift your winnings to the perfect mom, or yourself because that may be you! We don’t judge šŸ«£ā˜ŗļø!

We have a lot of exciting things in store for you this season and we appreciate your support! We will be back with the winner tomorrow! Get sharing and tell people to follow us….please!

We know it’s Mother’s Day weekend and lots of people want to plant. As far as dahlias go, the soil is NOT consistently warm enough in our area for them. The soil temperature has to be above 60 degrees and not super wet for them to thrive when planted.

Are they a bit dramatic? Absolutely, but they are also absolutely worth it! Patience…

Before seed packets and planting calendars, gardeners looked to the land itself for guidance! When lilacs bloomed, beans went in. When dandelions appeared, potatoes followed.

This time-tested practice—called phenology—uses nature’s seasonal cues to tell us when conditions are truly right for planting. By tuning in to blooms, bird migrations, and leaf-out times, you can garden in rhythm with your local climate and plant with greater confidence each spring.
