Today we remember the lives of over 1.3 Million Americans who made the ultimate sacrifice to ensure our freedoms today.

Though our country may not be perfect; there is no other country on this earth that I would want to grow this farm or family.

Today take a solemn moment to remember all of those men and women over the past 250 years. Remember that freedom has never been free. Remember that we are the land of the free because of the Brave.

Talking drought and how it affects apple trees. 🍎🍏🍎

1. Affects the size of the fruit. The right amount of rain helps nutrient absorption through the season. The less nutrients able to be absorbed, the smaller the fruit.

2. Drought can affect the health of the trees for this season and next. More stress one season can affect the yield going into the next year and increase the presence of disease because of that stress.

3. Extreme drought can cause an early fruit drop as the trees try to store nutrients for themselves going into the dormant season.

Luckily we have gotten some rain and will continue to get some. As of right now, we still are going to have a good crop this year.

Make sure you support your local farms this year.

We have had 2 late freezes, spikes in fuel, chemical, and fertilizer prices, and the worst drought since 2007-2008.

Excited for this to air! I was texted and told it might get pushed to Friday morning or early next week so keep watching.

We enjoy any chance I get to talk about agriculture and the challenges we face. So far this year we’ve had late freezes, (some spots) of hail, high fuel and fertilizer costs, and now drought.

Farming is hard. Support your local farms this summer and fall.
