White popcorn coming soon. Grew a small patch this summer just to see how it would do and once I get it cleaned and packed up it will be available for purchase. Hannah popped a kettle of it the other night and it popped up excellent with big fluffy kernels and only a couple old maids at the bottom.

Sincerest thanks for everyone that stopped and supported our stand this summer. This is a fun project for me and I enjoy meeting and talking with the people that stop and really appreciate all the positive feedback. Looking forward to doing it all again next year.

We’re picking the LAST of the summer sweetcorn. There are worms and the ears are a little short but it’s delicious all white corn I’m just playing the hand Mother Nature dealt. I dropped the price to $6/dozen. We’ll be picking through the week or until gone.

There will be another load of melons coming later this morning for everyone’s weekend camping trips and other Labor Day weekend festivities. The sweetcorn I hoped would be ready today needs another day or two still to fill out but I think I’ll have some ready before the weekend closes out. This last batch is all white. It does have some earworm again. It’s just a product of being planted and tasseling after all the field corn so the insect pressure is high. Without resorting to lots of insecticides this is what we deal with.

We’re temporarily out of sweetcorn. The next and last patch for the season will be ready hopefully for Labor Day weekend. We’ll keep the melons coming in as long as they keep moving.
