We’re excited to welcome a brand new vendor to the Cameron County Farmers Market this Saturday — Joyce Beaver of Scrap Wood Primitives!

If you love rustic décor, camp signs, farmhouse style, and one-of-a-kind handmade creations, you are definitely going to want to stop by Joyce’s booth.

Joyce started Scrap Wood Primitives just six months ago, turning a creative passion into a growing small business — and people are already falling in love with her beautiful handcrafted pieces. With the help of her husband, who tracks down old packing pallets and reclaimed wood, Joyce transforms forgotten scrap materials into charming decorative signs full of personality and country charm.

And when we say handmade, we mean truly handmade!

Joyce does the entire process herself — from cutting and sanding the wood to designing, painting, staining, and finishing every piece by hand. Each sign has its own unique character, making them perfect for homes, camps, cabins, porches, patios, and cozy corners that need a little extra warmth and personality.

Whether you’re decorating your camp for summer weekends, sprucing up your front porch, or searching for a unique gift, Scrap Wood Primitives will have something that catches your eye.

We absolutely love seeing creativity, craftsmanship, and recycling come together in such a fun and beautiful way, and we’re thrilled to have Joyce joining our growing market family.

Be sure to stop by and give Joyce a warm Cameron County Farmers Market welcome this Saturday, May 30, from 9am to 12pm at the Emporium Town Square!

Our gardens are bursting into life, and it’s the perfect time to spotlight one of our favorite returning growers — Dave English of English Acres!

Dave is a familiar face at the Cameron County Farmers Market, and anyone who has visited his incredible gardens in Truman knows just how much passion and dedication he pours into growing quality produce. His property is filled with beautifully maintained garden spaces, thriving vegetable plots, and the kind of country charm that makes you want to stay awhile.

A lifelong gardener with a true love for growing, Dave is especially well known for his pumpkins and squash later in the season — including award-winning giant pumpkins that have tipped the scales at over 1,000 pounds! But right now, his gardens are producing some wonderful fresh spring favorites that are perfect for the start of the growing season.

This Saturday, Dave will be bringing:

• Fresh rhubarb
• Onions
• Baby vegetable plants and starter plants for your garden
• And other fresh seasonal goodies from English Acres

Whether you’re looking to stock your fridge with fresh local produce or get your own garden started for the summer, Dave’s booth is always worth a stop.

Be sure to pop by and say hello this Saturday, May 30, from 9am to 12pm at the Emporium Town Square and check out what English Acres has growing this season!

Today, we’re excited to shine the spotlight on another wonderful returning vendor couple at the Cameron County Farmers Market — Josh & Lindsey Zucal!

Together, Josh and Lindsey bring a delicious combination of locally roasted coffee, homemade breakfast favorites, and warm community vibes to the market each week.

With Bearded Brewing, Josh has been carefully roasting internationally sourced coffee beans since 2017, working with small-scale farmers from Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Mexico, Ethiopia, and Indonesia. Every small batch is freshly roasted by hand to highlight the unique flavors and character of each region. Stop by their booth to enjoy a freshly brewed cup of coffee while you shop, or pick up a bag of beans to enjoy at home.

Meanwhile, Lindsey is bringing back many of the favorites market-goers have come to know and love. While we certainly miss Natalie’s smiling face at the market, Lindsey has stepped in beautifully to keep the delicious homemade offerings coming with more exciting additions in the works as the market season progresses.

Her breakfast treats include:
• Nutritious homemade granola
• Deliciously creamy homemade yogurt
• Super addictive peanut butter balls
• Farm fresh eggs ready for your morning omelette

Whether you’re looking for the perfect morning coffee, a healthy snack, or something delicious to brighten your weekend, Josh and Lindsey have you covered!

Be sure to stop by and say hello at our next market on Saturday. 30 May from 9am to 12pm at the Emporium Town Square for fresh local products, amazing vendors, live entertainment, great food, and wonderful community vibes!

We’re excited to welcome back Yelena Kisler, Head Librarian at the Barbara Moscato Brown Memorial Library, to the Cameron County Farmers Market!

Yelena will once again be bringing the library’s wonderful Seed Library to the market, offering a fantastic opportunity for our community to dig into gardening this spring. Whether you’re dreaming of fresh vegetables, colorful flowers, or simply trying your hand at growing something new, the Seed Library has something for everyone.

Available seeds include a variety of heirloom, non-GMO vegetables and ornamentals, with no seeds older than three years. Most are provided through the incredible non-profit Seed Savers Exchange along with generous local donations from fellow gardeners in our community.

Best of all — no library card is required to participate!

If you’re new to gardening or looking for a little extra guidance, Yelena will have plenty of helpful resources available, including growing instructions, seed-saving information, garden planning tools, and tips for a successful season. She’s always happy to answer questions and help gardeners of all experience levels get started.

More resources can be found online: like how to save seeds, plan your garden, and a printable garden journal. Check it all out here: https://barbaramoscatobrownlibrary.org/seed-library/

Already have heirloom, non-GMO seeds and want to share? Seed donations are always appreciated and help keep this amazing community resource growing.

Yelena will only be setting up at our next market on Saturday, May 23, from 9am to 12pm at the Emporium Town Square, so make sure to stop by, chat gardening, swap tips, and pick up some seeds to start your own growing adventure!
