🌿 Handmade, homemade, and a little old-fashioned know-how — welcome back Quiet Acres!

We're delighted to welcome Shirley and Greg Pituch of Quiet Acres back to the Cameron County Farmers Market!

Shirley and Greg bring a wonderful mix of handcrafted goods and family baking traditions to the market, with plenty to browse whether you're looking for something useful, something beautiful, or something delicious.

Shirley's handmade aprons are always a favourite, with one-of-a-kind designs ranging from charming farm themes to fun prints for kids. She also creates matching sets, making them especially fun for families who like to cook together.

Her creativity doesn't stop there. Shirley makes beautiful braided rag products, including bowls, themed coasters, rugs in a variety of sizes, and placemats. Each piece is handmade and gives new life to fabric in a practical and colourful way.

Greg and Shirley also bring along a selection of their family's Haldeman Mills baking mixes, making it easy to put something homemade on the table without starting completely from scratch. Choose from:

* Buttermilk Pancake mix
* Dutch Funnel Cake Mix
* Soft Pretzel Mix
* Shortcake Cobbler Mix
* Buckwheat Pancake Mix
* Yellow Cornmeal

Whether you're stocking the kitchen, looking for a unique handmade gift, or simply enjoy traditional baking made a little easier, there's plenty to discover at Quiet Acres.

We’re buzzing with excitement to welcome back one of the Cameron County Farmers Market’s perennial favourites, Dylan & Ashley Major of D’s Queen Bees!

Dylan and Ashley are passionate apiarists from Port Allegany who turn the hard work of their bees into a wonderful variety of delicious honey products and handcrafted beeswax goods. Their booth is always a popular stop for market shoppers looking for something sweet, useful or just a little bit different.

Dylan takes care of the bees and produces an assortment of delicious honey creations, including favourites such as Cinnamon Flavored Creamed Honey, Hot Garlic Honey and Reaper Honey, along with beautiful chunks of honeycomb filled with golden honey straight from the hive.

Ashley brings her creativity to the beeswax side of the business, creating an eclectic collection of products that can include lip balms, salves, soaps, wood polish, wax melts and beeswax treats. With such a variety, there’s always something new to discover at the D’s Queen Bees stall!

Behind all those delicious products is a tremendous amount of work. Dylan cares for their hives throughout the seasons, making sure the bees are healthy, happy and productive. Beekeeping is a labour of love, particularly during the busy spring and summer months when the bees are hard at work!

Their dedication has helped D’s Queen Bees grow into a thriving local business, with their honey and beeswax products finding their way into stores, restaurants, markets and events throughout the region.

So whether you’re after a jar of delicious honey, something made from beeswax, or simply want to learn a little more about these fascinating creatures, be sure to stop by and say hello to Dylan & Ashley at D’s Queen Bees!

Come support this wonderful local business and take home a little bee-made goodness this Saturday 22 August, 9am to 12pm at the Emporium Town Square.

🎨 Creativity is always in season, and we're delighted to welcome back local artist Liz Young to the Cameron County Farmers Market!

For more than 30 years, Liz has been expressing her love of nature through art, creating beautiful pieces inspired by the forests, wildlife, and changing seasons that surround us here in Cameron County. Working in oils, acrylics, and watercolors, her paintings capture everything from peaceful landscapes and woodland scenes to portraits and local wildlife, often using her own photographs and observations as inspiration.

While painting is her first love, Liz's creativity doesn't stop at the canvas. Her booth is always filled with unique handcrafted treasures, including beautifully painted birdhouses that are both decorative and functional, whimsical painted rocks, and one-of-a-kind collages created from found and natural materials.

This year, Liz is also bringing along a wonderful selection of houseplants, each displayed in colorful and creative pots that are every bit as eye-catching as the plants themselves. Whether you're looking to brighten your home, office, or porch, you'll find plenty of inspiration at her booth.

One of the things we love most about Liz's work is its warmth and personality. Every piece reflects her appreciation for the beauty of the natural world and her desire to create art that brings joy to others.

Be sure to stop by and visit Liz at the Cameron County Farmers Market this Saturday from 9am to 12pm at the Emporium Town Square. Whether you're looking for an original painting, a unique gift, or the perfect new plant for your home, you're sure to find something that catches your eye.

🔪 A sharp knife makes all the difference—and Mike Thompson is back to help!

We're excited to welcome Mike Thompson back to the Cameron County Farmers Market this weekend!

Many of our regular shoppers will remember Mike as one of our longtime produce growers, bringing beautiful, homegrown vegetables to the market over the years. Although he took this season off from growing for the market, we're thrilled that he's returning in a new role that many of you have been asking for.

This Saturday, Mike will be offering ON-SITE KNIFE SHARPENING at the market.

Whether it's your favorite kitchen knife that's lost its edge, a hunting knife that's ready for a tune-up, or your pocket knife that needs a little attention, Mike can help restore them to a sharp, smooth cutting edge while you browse the market. Sharp tools aren't just easier to use—they're safer, more efficient, and make every job a little more enjoyable!

It's the perfect opportunity to cross one more chore off your to-do list while supporting local vendors. Simply drop off your knives, enjoy a stroll around the market, listen to the live music, pick up some fresh produce, baked goods, or handmade gifts, and return to collect your freshly sharpened blades.

We're delighted to have Mike back as part of the Cameron County Farmers Market family and hope you'll stop by to say hello—and perhaps give those well-used knives a new lease on life!
