ughout the year include the Peak Season Kickoff traditionally in May, Watermelon Day in June shortly before the 4th of July holiday and Pumpkin Day preceding Halloween and celebrating the fall harvests. The Market is open year-round when fresh, seasonal items are available. The peak season for the quantity and variety of fruits and vegetables is April through August, but fall and winter produce is often available. Talented crafters are also a staple at the Market, where you can find such treasures as handmade jewelry, homemade soaps, wood products, beautiful embroidery and much more. We are so appreciative of everyone who comes out to support the Enterprise Farmers Market each week. Seeing a packed market and our local vendors thriving is exactly what makes this space so special.

As attendance continues to grow, we want to kindly remind everyone to be mindful of where you park. It has been brought to our attention that some market visitors may be utilizing parking spaces intended for nearby businesses and their customers. We value our relationship with our downtown neighbors and want to ensure their patrons have access to convenient parking as well.

To help with this, we do have designated Farmers Market parking spots available, along with an overflow parking lot located across Main Street.
We appreciate your help in being considerate, respectful neighbors and in helping us keep the market experience positive for everyone.

πŸ‘©β€πŸ³ CHEF SHOWDOWN CONTESTANT: MARY MERRITT

Mary's love of cooking is simple and sincere. She loves being in the kitchen and creating meals for others to enjoy. That passion has already earned her success in Enterprise, where she previously competed in a local chili cook-off and took home the first-place trophy.

Helping Mary throughout today's Chef Showdown are Cynthia Stafford and Kathy Holland, who are lending their support as she brings her menu to life.

One ingredient Mary was especially excited to find at the Enterprise Farmers Market was sweet potatoes, a treat that isn't typically available this time of year. She'll also be incorporating peanut oil into a steamed cabbage and onion dish, highlighting the versatility of local peanut products.

Stop by Tent #1 to meet Mary and her team and see how fresh, local ingredients are transformed into delicious dishes!

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ³ CHEF SHOWDOWN CONTESTANT: GENE CARTER

Gene's love of cooking started at a young age. With a father who was a chef and a healthy appetite of his own, he quickly realized he'd better learn his way around the kitchen.

Today, Gene works in Enterprise's restaurant industry at Corks & Cattle, where he continues to share his passion for great food with the community.

Helping him throughout the competition are his daughters, Anastasia and Lilly, who jumped at the chance to be part of the Chef Showdown. They say they're especially excited to help because they're big fans of their dad's famous deviled eggs.

For today's competition, Gene is looking forward to showcasing fresh market ingredients, including kale, unique pickles, and a bright, fresh salad featuring microgreens.

Stop by Tent #2 to meet Gene and his team and see what they're creating with some of the freshest ingredients available at the Enterprise Farmers Market!

πŸ‘©β€πŸ³ CHEF SHOWDOWN CONTESTANT: PEYTON DUNN

Hailing from Elba, Peyton is a hairdresser by trade and a home cook by passion. While she may describe herself as shy, she signed up for the Chef Showdown to challenge herself, step outside her comfort zone, and prove that she can do hard things.

Peyton's biggest supporter today is her mom, who is helping her throughout the competition.

For her menu, Peyton is preparing homemade sourdough pasta topped with a sauce crafted from ingredients sourced right here at the Enterprise Farmers Market. She'll also incorporate peanut products into her salad course, adding another local touch to her dishes.

Be sure to stop by Tent #3 to meet Peyton and cheer her on as she takes on this exciting culinary challenge!
