Led by Niken Astari Carpenter, these guided experiences take you inside locally owned markets operated by New American entrepreneurs, where you'll sample foods, learn about different cultures, and hear inspiring stories of resilience, entrepreneurship, and belonging.

From Iraqi and Syrian specialties to Congolese, Bhutanese-Nepali, and other global flavors, each tour offers a meaningful way to support local refugee and immigrant-owned businesses while experiencing Erie through a new lens.

We’re glad to be part of this recent documentary exploring Erie’s population trends and the people who continue choosing to build their lives and businesses here.

New Americans play an important role in strengthening our local economy — starting businesses, creating jobs, raising families, and contributing to the long-term stability of our neighborhoods. These conversations matter because they highlight the resilience, diversity, and growth happening right here in our city.
