Browning Cattle Company is located in Clinton LA. Our focus is to raise healthy, high quality beef to satisfy the discerning customer who is interested in the origin, health, handling, and processing of their food. We have decided to offer a limited selection of our locally grown, grass-fed beef that is free from synthetic hormones directly to the retail customer. Our cattle are treated humanely a
nd with dignity, they are not abused, mis-treated, or mis-handled. Our animals reach market weight between July and October and are available for delivery for processing at that time. So how does this all work?
1) The order and down-payment is received at Browning Cattle Company while the animal is being raised. The cattle can be bought by the half, or by the whole
2) The cow is delivered to Cutrer’s Meats (located in Kentwood, LA) by Browning Cattle Company when ready for processing.
3) At Cutrer’s Meats, the animal is tagged with an identification number that is unique to the animal and also to the customer in order to ensure that the cow that was delivered for the customer is the beef that they receive.
4) Cutrer’s will contact the customer and help the customer through the process of determining how the beef should be processed. For example:
i. What cuts of meat do you prefer
ii. How large is your family (how much meat in each package)
5) The beef will be allowed to age for 14 to 21 days.
6) The beef will be processed to the customer’s specifications.
7) The beef will be frozen so that it can be picked up by the customer.
9) The balance of the cost of the animal and the cost of processing is paid at Cutrer’s when the customer arrives to get the meat.
