Hi everyone, I'm going to be deleting this page, but the pantry and fridge will still be open! I just don't have it in me to manage the online presence for the pantry anymore. I will leave this up for a couple days so people can see that we will still be open once the page is shut down.

Wanted to say a big thank you to:

1) The donors who made it possible for us to get a dishwasher, which is life-changing for the pantry operation, especially when we get donations of food containers that must be washed, thank you Marna and Mary!!

2) The folks who have brought gravel and those who are bringing more gravel to fix the muddy areas, thank you anonymous gravel fairies, Norm, Suzi, and Laura!!

3) Some of our most frequent food donors, Barbara and Leenie!!

I am certain there are more people known and unknown to me who keep our pantry stocked and running, thank you to everyone!!

Our pantry was in the news again 🥰 Lauren Kessler included us as the ending note in this three-part series on hunger in Lane County! We appear about 3/4 of the way down the page.

Also, the fridge is currently very full of pizza, homemade meals, and other donations - please come save this food 🤗

There are a vast number and diversity of agencies and groups involved in the effort to keep people fed in Lane County — from a two-acre farm to an international bulk retailer, from Native American tribes to Boy Scouts troops, from foundations to faith-based agencies, from one person stocking a tin...

Y’all may have noticed the “in loving memory of Tater Tot, 2006-2024” note on the front of the fridge. Many of y’all probably saw him in the windows between 2021 (when I started the LPP) and 2024. He was my best friend kitty from my senior year of high school all the way through to my 30s. Please enjoy this pic of him with Santa in 2009 🥰

Does anyone have gravel to spare? 🪨🪨🪨

Hi y’all 🤗 all our traffic - which we are happy to have, keep coming! - is ripping up the ground near the pantry. This is what it looks like on a not-so-rainy day and it will keep getting muddier. I REALLY don’t want anyone to slip in the mud! Does anyone have gravel to spare? We could pick it up from you if so! Thanks for everything 💓

At the Saturday Eugene Farmers Market, from 9am to 3pm, at 8th & Oak, even though no one's EBT/Snap has been loaded onto their card, even if your balance is ZERO, just take your card up to the booth, they will swipe your card & give you $20 in double up food bucks!
Every Market during this SNAP fiasco, you can get the $20 in double up food bucks for free.

The last Farmers Market is Dec 13th & that's when the double up food bucks will expire too. You can use the double up food bucks on any produce at the Farmers Market!!!! ♡♡♡

🚨EBT benefits may be delayed if the govt isn’t running again by 10/31. If you have the resources to plan ahead to donate to our fridge between 11/1-11/9 (when EBT would normally be disbursed) we would SO appreciate that at the LPP 🖤

WE ARE STILL OPEN 24/7. TAKE WHAT YOU NEED, LEAVE WHAT YOU CAN. OUR PAGE WILL REMAIN ONLINE. BUT WE WILL RARELY MAKE NEW POSTS HERE.

Hi, y’all may have noticed fewer posts lately. I’m so grateful for the attention and donations we got after the Register-Guard article this summer, but as a *highly* introverted and multiply-employed person with family responsibilities, I’ve struggled to keep my mental health intact alongside the increasing activity on this page. I recently literally fainted after a stressful pantry situation, which was a wake-up call for me. So if you’ve been with us since the good old days of 2021, before I began posting updates, that’s what I’m going back to doing.

💞💞💞

Barbara from Waste To Taste just brought us a fridge-and-freezer’s worth of ready-to-eat sandwiches, burritos, desserts, etc 🤗
