Please help , one of our amazing small family farm members located in Everson. They’re in a very tough spot after flooding for the second time since 2001. These are incredible human beings that work as hard as anyone we know - and they need our help now.

From their GoFundme (link in bio): Our farm is not only where we work, it is our home. We live and farm here with our children, and recent flooding has deeply impacted our land, our infrastructure, and our sense of stability.

A major part of our farm’s livelihood comes from our early season flower sales, which begin in January. Those sales are critical for our annual cash flow and are how we pay down our flower bulb loan, which is in the tens of thousands of dollars, and carry the farm financially into spring. The flooding has significantly compromised our ability to access resources, prepare for the season, and make those early sales, putting us in a very vulnerable position.

If we are unable to pay down that loan, it will have serious long term consequences for our farm. While this fundraiser will only cover a portion of that financial burden, it will help relieve some of the immediate pressure as we work to recover.

THANK YOU to everyone who has donated time, equipment, meals, and funds toward flood recovery efforts at . We have raised $4,220 of our initial $5k goal so far. Unfortunately, this family will need much more financial assistance than that to get back on their feet. (To give you an idea, the brand new furnace they installed after the 2021 flood cost $20k then). All donations today will continue to go toward Mariposa (even if we top $5k.) after today we’ll announce the best way to continue to help. Thank you for your patience as this is still a fast-moving triage situation. 💚

Massive thank you to at least a dozen farmers and friends who showed up to begin flood recovery at today. Including: .farm and many other friends (who are less exhausted than these incredible farmers).

Mariposa lost all harvested crops, all cover crops/seed, and crops still in greenhouses. The barn is cleaned out and tomorrow we’ll work on getting damaged property out of the flooded house basement. HUGE thank you to , and an informal network of badass friends for feeding us and transporting food. Thank you for providing rental equipment to help with active relief efforts.

Thank you to everyone who has donated to the family at the link in our bio. It means more than words. One day at a time.

We’re very busy assisting with cleanup today but please donate to via link in our bio - they lost so much and will be facing major financial losses.

Update on the need at :

Flood damage at Mariposa Farm (just north of Nugents Corner) is as bad as it was in 2021 - when Joaquin and Liz endured devastating flooding in the same location.

The family is out of power and water due to the house basement being flooded (the electrical panel is in the basement). They’re working on pumping water out now.

A TSM work crew will be helping with cleanup tomorrow. Flood waters have gone down quite a bit already and we hope the barn will be accessible by tomorrow.

Most equipment is ok but a van and pickup got flooded.

We are set on work crew volunteers, but the family is facing property losses and needs financial support. Please donate to the family via our end-of-year fundraiser (link in bio). We can assure you that every dollar up to $5k will go directly to Mariposa. 🤍

Huge thanks to for providing delicious hot food to several of our flooded farmer members today. It means so much.
