Maitake, also known as Grifola frondosa, is native to the northern mountains of Japan. It is a medicinal and edible mushroom with a good taste and inherited medicinal effects. It has been highly respected as a tribute to the Japanese royal family since ancient times. Because people would dance with excitement when they found this mushroom equivalent to silver in the mountains, it was named ”Maitake“.

This legendary mushroom was not successfully cultivated artificially until the mid-1980s. Since then, scientists, mainly in Japan, have conducted extensive research on Maitake in chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacology, etc., proving that Maitake is the most valuable medicinal and edible mushroom, especially the most effective active ingredient extracted from Maitake - Maitake D-fraction has a strong anti-cancer effect and is known as: ”The king of fungi, an anti-cancer wonder“.
