I had the pleasure of making this breadbox for a friend’s Christmas gift to his girlfriend. It was a sweet and thoughtful gift as she likes to buy fresh bread from the farmer’s market, and a fun experience to build something I haven’t done before.

Recently completed these two shadow box frames using all African wood for a friend who is going to use them to showcase her mom’s jewelry she acquired over trips to African countries. Frames are made from Wenge, Zebrawood, Latí, and Padauk.

I had the privilege recently to create a couple of pieces for an amazing person who was one of my band directors in grade school. I went with the Great Bridge band director theme and created this music inspired cutting board and a serving tray accented with our school colors, green and gold. The cutting board features an African Wenge inlaid treble clef and music staff, on Curly Maple, with a Purpleheart border. The serving tray is on fire from this amazing Curly Maple, striped with Wenge and wider panels of Brazilian Cherry. The green and gold stripes and splines are dyed Curly Maple.

It’s been a while since I could get back to the lathe. Finished these pens today. One of them is Osage Orange, the other four are from a cedar tree I brought back from my mom’s house in the OBX. I added epoxy to two of those and the other two are straight cedar.

It’s been a while since I’ve last posted. Been head’s down on a big project. I did finish these two trays and accompanying coasters recently during a break. They’re made from curly maple, walnut, and wenge. I love how the curly maple pops in these trays. Nature is just so beautiful.
