We will be having fresh apples and cider for sale this September and October. Below are the following varieties. call 838-3829 about getting some local grown apples.
Liberty
Fine textured, crisp and juicy. Rich complex flavor.
Uses: Eating, pies, sauces. One of the best for pies and apple butter
Empire
Crisp, juicy, tart off the tree - mellows with storage. Includes McIntosh in its parentage, but sweeter. Similar to Jonathan.
Uses: Eating, sauce, pies, baking and salads
Jonathan
An apple with a sweet-tart intense flavor which is great for eating or cooking. A top pick for pies and tarts and is also appropriate for sauces and apple butter. The skin is deep, clear red with crisp, yellowish flesh and a spicy fragrance.
Cortland
A large red apple over snow white flesh. Very juicy and mildly tart. Will not turn brown when used in salads Uses: Eating, salads, baking
Golden Del.
An excellent all-purpose apple with creamy white flesh and greenish-yellow skin, turning to golden, when fully mature. Golden Delicious are ideal for eating out of hand, as well as being a favorite for pies, cobblers and tarts. Its versatility makes it our best seller.
Red Del.
Sweet flavor, creamy white flesh, pleasant perfume and crimson red skin make this a standout for snacks or fruit salads. Sometimes tart when first picked, the flavor quickly develops and matures over time.
Jonagold
A Golden Delicious & Jonathan cross that produces a large apple with an orange tinted red blush over a yellow background. The Jonagold has a juicy crisp texture with a sweet, yet sightly tart flavor. Great for fresh eating and pies.
Enterprise
Spicy aromatic flavor with mild tartness; flavor grows with storage. Outstanding storage capabilities.
