Park Street Kohl Farm Stand

Park Street Kohl Farm Stand We have decided to take the leap into growing our own vegetables and raising chickens. A place to post about my families micro-homestead journey.

Baking, gardening, canning, preserving and more. We live on .17 of an acre in a busy village. Over the last year and a half we have decided to take the leap into growing our own food, raising the animals we can(chickens) and getting away from store bought items if we can. Making bread, stocks, and so much more. This spring we are ramping things up even more, and made the decision to offer the public a chance to help us grow! Please consider making a donation to the farm stand!

Good morning and happy canal day weekend!

Unfortunately we will not be open today, Friday June 5th- y’all sold us out of eggs on Wednesday!

We will also not be open from today through 6/13, possibly 6/14.

The little free seed library will remain out.

Happy sunny Wednesday! It’s a gorgeous day to get outside.

Today we have:
Eggs - $4/dozen

I have also updated the little free seed library with some new seeds.

Please be mindful to not touch things you won’t be purchasing - I have seen an uptick in individuals ruining or stealing things that are on the farmstand. This will lead to the farmstand being closed for everyone.

FREE SEED LIBRARY: Take what you want, give what you can. There are envelopes and a pen so you can take a few from the original envelope.

We accept cash and Venmo, but cash is preferred.

Empty egg cartons can be left on the top shelf of the farmstand when you return them. We appreciate everyone that has brought them back for us to reuse.

Finally got the plants in the ground with help from my little guy! Jalapeño peppers, chili peppers, bell peppers, San Marzano tomatoes, Roma tomatoes, luffa, zucchini, summer squash, winter squash, watermelon, melon, green beans, pickle cucumbers, hey day cucumbers. Jack-o-lantern pumpkins and mini pumpkins. Then got fencing put up to keep the dogs out of the gardens.

Had a busy Saturday on the micro-homestead. Moved some old raised beds that weren’t used last year to a spot that will be more convenient. In the process made a mess all over the yard with the pvc piping we use to put the frost cloth over the gardens as well as the trash from the old garden fencing’s. Next, we picked up a trailer load of compost and managed to fill all the beds besides the 3 raised beds we moved today. All the weeds from the beds along the fence line went o the happy chickens. Just listen to them talking away as they scratch through the greens!
