We’re excited to see the University of Minnesota Meat and Dairy Salesroom featured in a recent article! 🥩🧀

Our supervisor sat down for an interview to share how the Meat Lab gives students hands-on experience in meat processing while producing award-winning products for the community to enjoy. From steaks and bacon to cheese and more, everything sold in the Salesroom helps support student learning in the University of Minnesota Animal Science and Food Science programs.

Last week we welcomed the 2026 MN Beef Council “Top of the Class” group into the Meat Lab! 🥩🔪

Participants spent time learning about the history of meat cutting and then got hands-on breaking down ribeye primals into alternative merchandising cuts. Along the way we discussed how value increases as additional fabrication is done to a cut, but also how creative cutting can help create great value and better buying options for consumers.

It was a great group and a fun day in the lab! Thanks to Minnesota Beef for partnering with us and continuing to support education around beef and meat science.

We've got some fun stuff happening in the salesroom this week!

🔥 All meat with our old label design is 15% off!
Time to clear it out and make room for the new – and customers get a great deal while we’re at it!

Just regular flavor this time, but still delicious and always a hit.

There’s more to the UMN Meat Lab than meets the eye! Did you know that we not only make delicious products for our salesroom, but also get to participate in research and development projects with various companies to bring yummy products to grocery stores?
