Today I'm making salsa since I sold out of every variety yesterday. I bought onions from Farmer Mike who has been my vendor neighbor and produce supplier for ten years, If you come to our market and need produce, River View Veggie is where you need to stop, Check out the size of these onions. For scale, I've got two leftover onions from the 2 lb, bag I bought at Cub. They're not tiny, they're average size. Mike's are just monsters (and really good tasting!)

I haven't made focaccia in awhile and I don't know why not. The rosemary scent in the kitchen right now is wonderful! I'll have focaccia, 7 grain bread, buns, and white bread - as well as an assortment of sweet treats tomorrow at Faribault Farmers' Market in Central Park. 7 a.m. to noon.

Despite the fire-breathing oven, I will have baked goods tomorrow: Buns, white bread, 7 grain bread, apple cinnamon bread, strawberry rhubarb bread. It's been a stressful bake day. To avoid the overheating/fire outcome, I've been shutting off the oven after about an hour of baking, letting it cool down, then pre-heating again to bake the next thing, Time consuming, frustrating, but NO burnt stuff so far!!

The last thing the stove repair guy said as he was leaving was, "you shouldn't have anymore problems." Umm.... this is what happened this morning. I had to move the pan of fire-bombed cookies out to the deck to get the smoke level in the kitchen down.

I'll be at Faribault Farmers' Market tomorrow, July 26, in Central Park from 7 a.m. to noon. Not ALL of my baked goods were incinerated!😆 I'll have 7 Grain bread, buns, apple cinnamon bread, and strawberry rhubarb bread - as well as pickles, salsa in all heat levels, and Bloody Mary mix. Some of you have heard me complaining about my oven in person. It just did it again and this is the last straw. Time for a replacement. I Googled to see if anyone else had this issue, and lots of people did. The oven while baking, suddenly decides to switch to clean mode and the temp shoots up from 350 to well over 500. No warning. I am alerted by all the smoke detectors going off. The online articles and also the manual say that the panel board "gets confused" sometimes. The remedy is to unplug, wait three minutes, let the oven cool down then try again. I'm doing that, but I want a new stove! The picture shows what should have been three loaves of nice 7 Grain Bread.
