Please come say your goodbyes

**Finally!**

We’re hoping to once and for all retire this POLE from its long-standing position as Ron’s unofficial bumper magnet!

A big thank you to CMP and to our friendly neighbor across the street!

This has been a years-long process, spanning several store owners, with more than its fair share of roadblocks, delays and complications.

Unfortunately, along the way, a separate neighbor repeatedly misused 911 services by making unnecessary emergency calls over minor incidents, aggressively harassed our staff and also contacted CMP with multiple complaints. Those actions added significant delays and complications to an already lengthy process.

We’re grateful for our neighbor across the street who been helpful and cooperative, and to CMP for listening to our concerns and working with us to finally get things moving in the right direction.

After years of waiting, we’re going to celebrate the progress!

Now we need to have a BUMPER BUSTER RETIREMENT PARTY!!🎉🚗💥

After all these years, this pole has earned its retirement!

Thank you to Dave and Erica from Root Down Market and the team at Greater Franklin Economic and Community Development for hosting last night’s Food Industry Meetup Morrison Hill!

It was a great evening of connecting with local business owners, entrepreneurs, food producers, and fellow foodies from around the area.

We’re always looking to discover new local products and partnerships that complement the local options we’ve always been proud to offer at Ron’s.

We’re excited to keep building those connections and bringing even more great local options to Ron’s!

We have some pretty good guys working in our redemption center. ❤️

Customers donate returnables to us all the time. Sometimes they already know which local organization they want the money to go to, and sometimes they **spin our donation wheel** and let the wheel choose from the many local organizations we collect for.

Every once in a while, a customer decides to give their returnables directly to the guys working out back instead.

This time, someone gave our redemption crew **11 bags of returnables to keep for themselves.**

But the guys decided to pay it forward.

Rather than keeping the money, **they spun the donation wheel themselves** — and it landed on **Literacy Volunteers of Franklin & Somerset Counties!**

So **the money from all 11 bags -$52.50- will go to Literacy Volunteers.**

We're proud of these guys. This isn't the first time they've taken something that was given directly to them and chosen to put it right back into the community.

A generous customer started it. Our redemption crew kept it going. And the wheel decided where it went. ❤️

**Congratulations, Literacy Volunteers — this one's from the boys out back!**

The mission of Literacy Volunteers of Franklin and Somerset Counties is to empower adults through learner-based tutoring in reading, writing, math, and technology and to promote literacy in our community.

Some people become part of the history of a place without ever actually working there.

Behind the wheel is Rod, our longtime delivery driver from what was Federal Distributors, now Valley Distributors. Rod delivered to Ron’s Market for many, many years — going all the way back to when our redemption center still had a dirt floor! And alongside him is our good friend, the ever-handsome local published author, Doug Walrath.

Over all those years, we heard plenty about the Mustang Rod was working on. Well, he stopped in to visit and finally brought the infamous Mustang along to show us. After hearing about it for all those years, we finally got to see the finished product — and isn’t she a beauty!

We’ve been fortunate to build some great relationships with the delivery drivers who have come through our doors over the years. Many have told us how much they appreciate being treated with kindness, patience, and understanding here. We’ve always believed the people coming through our back door deserve the same respect as the people coming through the front.

Maybe the best compliment is that some of those drivers still come back to visit us years after retirement.

Thanks for stopping in, Rod — and for finally bringing that Mustang! It was great seeing you, and of course Doug too.
