QUILLEN, DAVID RAY
FELTON-David Ray Quillen passed away on January 30, 2025 in Felton, Delaware after a courageous battle with lung disease. He was surrounded by love and memories that spanned a lifetime.

Born on February 14, 1963 to Rosalie Kelly and the late Ray Quillen, David dedicated his life to family, hard work, and adventure. He was the proud co-owner of Hughes Scrapple in Felton, Delaware where he worked tirelessly in the family business. But beyond his work, David was a man of action and heart—traveling far and wide to compete in rodeo events, amassing a room full of accomplishments that stood as a testament to his dedication and passion.

He found joy in the great outdoors, whether hunting, fishing, or simply sharing stories under the open sky with those he loved. His gift for storytelling could fill a room with laughter, and his generosity left a lasting impression on everyone he met. If you ever crossed paths with David at Circle D, you knew he was always up for a good deal, a new hobby, or a conversation that made you feel like family. His well-worn wallet and chaotic phone were filled with pictures of those he held dear—a reflection of the deep love he carried for his family and friends.

David is survived by his beloved children: Travis, Anna, Cloe, Kyle, and Adam; his cherished mother, Rosalie Kelly; the mother of his children, Lisa Quillen; his sister Dolly Womack; and his niece and nephew, Dana and Wesley; his niece Tonya Faulkner; and his great nieces: Ashley, Bailey and Ry; his aunt Lenora Stephens. He also leaves behind many dear friends and cousins whom he truly loved.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Quillen (2021); his niece Ashley Womack (1993); his nephew, Joshua Mast (2007); his uncle Mervin Hughes; his aunt Marlene Hurd; his uncle Smith; and his grandparents, Thomas (1964) and Edith (1986) Hughes.

Service details will be announced at a later date, and all who knew and loved David are welcome to attend. Online condolences may be made via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.

“In the wake of loss, we are reminded of the strength found in love, the resilience found in shared memories, and the quiet comfort of knowing that the stories we tell keep those we’ve lost alive in our hearts. David was a man who lived fully—always seeking, always giving, always loving. In honoring him, we are reminded to embrace life with the same spirit: to be present, to laugh often, and to hold each other close.”
