Supporting small farms and sustainable agriculture in Whatcom County. Oak Meadows Farm is a small-scale, pasture-based, diversified livestock farm. We are centrally located between Bellingham, Ferndale, and Lynden, Washington. Our main focus is pastured poultry including broiler chickens and eggs. Our poultry are rotated daily to fresh grass in movable shelters (chicken tractors). In addition to w

hat they eat from the pasture, they are supplemented with non-GMO, corn- and soy-free feed. Our broilers are available whole as well as cut up into breasts, leg quarters, wings, and backs. Hearts, livers, necks, and feet are also available. You can buy our products directly from us on our farm or at multiple local retailers. A list of the retailers and restaurant that use our products is available on our website.

Good morning!
The store is open and we are busy restocking.

We are super excited to have all our chicken back in stock and have some new cuts of chicken available we have not offered before. We have whole chickens, boneless breasts, boneless/skinless thighs, bone-in/skin on thighs, wings, backs, liver, feet, ground chicken, and chicken bone broth. This chicken is from one of our partner farms that raises slower growing breeds on pasture with daily moves and feeds organic/corn and soy free feed. It is the best chicken we have found available in Washington and we are super happy to be selling it.

Fresh bread is in with us having 5 varieties today. We have cheddar, garlic, oatmeal, rosemary, and white.

We are also giving away free quarts of milk with any purchase today as they are getting close to their best by date and we do not want to see them go to waste.

Last but not least, I found a little friend hanging out in the egg washing facility the other day. He is just chilling in there acting as all nature bug control.

Bread is here! We have 4 types today. Regular sourdough, cheddar cheese, garlic, and porridge. $10 each.

Porridge is a sourdough loaf enriched with oat porridge, brown butter, and brown sugar, creating a soft, tender crumb. It has a mild tang with notes of caramel and a subtle, nutty sweetness.

We are super excited to have a bread supplier now and they have many other items we will look into selling in the future too.

You can now get local bread, milk, and eggs all in one stop at the Acorn Market.

Fresh artisan bread from Main Street Bread in Ferndale, grass-fed non-homogenized whole milk from Grace Harbor Farms in Custer, and our pasture-raised eggs are now all available together at the Acorn Market.

One of our goals has been creating a true one-stop shop for local food here in Whatcom County, and this feels like a big step toward that. Being able to grab local bread, milk, and eggs all in one stop just feels right.

The bread is made with simple organic ingredients — just flour, water, salt, and yeast. No preservatives, fillers, or binders.

We are excited to keep expanding the selection of local foods available at the market.

Out getting the field tilled for all of our u-pick crops and different things we are planting this year.

I am also trying to multitask while doing it by getting caught up on work texts so some of my passes may not be the straightest.

My new favorite snack combo for while out doing egg deliveries. The pumpkin seeds and raspberry smoothie go together surprisingly well. Both are available in our store and are made locally.

I am also learning the ins and out of using my new delivery trailer and have only cracked a few eggs in the process.
