I have been working part time at a slaughterhouse and learning about not only local meats, but FDA regulations. What I have found : This is not about your health or the quality of your meat you purchase.
The big CAFO’s have the $$$ and as a result of being rich they have all the influence with the government.
Most of us suspect this this, but now I know. CAFO (confined animal feeding operation) is the most lucrative business by far in the farming industry.
Plus they have hurt farms that have done well in the past. One such pig farm was in Wisconsin. She made an arrangement with a large meat provider (China) and they paid her more than she could get anywhere for two years. So she went under contract with them thinking she would be safe. COVID hit and they didn’t take her pigs. Her contract stated that she couldn’t sell to anyone else. She sold her pigs to other butchers. The Chinese to her farm in court. This was a few months ago.
What we have since learned is that the Chinese Government has a plan to bring this country to its knees. And our government has sold us out.
All of this is part of a greater plan to hurt us and bring us to our knees. This is all I know.
But my advice to you is to get to know your local farmer and protect yourselves by protecting them first. Work with them and keep it on the down low. The government is passing laws to watch how you spend your money. So learn to barder. Find something you can do yo trade your services.
Just protect yourselves is all I’m saying! Because what is coming is easy to overcome if your ready!
