Origin
The sisters took two completely different paths and came back together in Finleyville/New Eagle approximate 8 years before the creation of Dilly's. One sister packed up everything she owned in her brand new car in 1993 and headed to Dallas/Ft Worth, Texas for 25 years in a office job . The other remained in Finleyville and recently retired after a 42 year career in the food service industry. Both continuing the cooking and baking traditions they grew up with. The name "Dilly's Deli and Market"
Fast forward to 2017 - The Texas sister returned home for good. Two months later she took the local sister to get a new puppy. 4 hours and a speeding ticket later a new family member arrived home. On the way back names were thrown out for the puppy. The local sister threw out "Dallas" and the Texas sister stated, "I have nothing to do with naming her that!", and other names were mentioned as we continued down the road. Upon arriving at the house and the puppy was show to their Dad, with no mention of names that were discussed, their Dad immediately stated, "What about 'Dallas'?" The Texas sister walked out of the room with same comment previously spoken. The little yellow lab was then named "Dallas". Over time "Dallas" had many nick names, one of which was "Dilly Dallas
Fast forward to 2024 - The two sisters were having lunch at a local restaurant discussing the possibility of starting the business. The question of the name came up. Next thing heard was "Come dilly dally at "Dilly's Deli" and here we are.
