Hi friends! We know you guys have been anxiously awaiting some news from us on the 2023 honey harvest. (You might want to sit down for this)
The few weeks of spring like weather that we had at the end of winter and then a late, hard freeze put the whammy on a lot of trees and plants. It caused things to start blooming and the freeze killed what would be a source of pollen or nectar now. As a result, the honey bees and other pollinators are not able to find enough to eat for themselves and certainly are not able to produce a surplus of honey.
We are so sad, but we will not have a honey season this year. We are doing our best to keep what we have alive.
If you want to help in some small way, please let things on your property bloom. Let the clover grow. Let the “weeds” flourish. This is all our pollinators have right now and they are struggling.
If anything changes, we will let y’all know.
