The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) application is now open! 🤩

The SFMNP provides eligible seniors with a $50 benefit card to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables from certified farmers at farmers markets and farm stands in Alabama. Previous card holders can enter their original card but MUST reapply, along with any new seniors, online at agi.alabama.gov/farmersmarket/ to receive funding. The program is available on a first come first serve basis, so apply now!

Despite the rain we had a DELICIOUS day at the market with Watermelon Slice Day!! 🍉

Served up for free today were Tropical Sunshine yellow seedless, Sweet Gem red seedless, Crimson Sweet red, and Willhite Tender Gold orange all grown locally by our vendors.

🍅🥬👏 Huge shoutout to LHS 9th grade student, Wyatt Byers, for his incredible dedication and hustle this summer! 👏🥕🌽

While many were enjoying some well-earned rest, he spent countless early mornings planting, watering, weeding, and harvesting fresh produce, then turned right around and sold it at the local farmers market each week.

From seed to stand, Wyatt has shown what it means to work hard, stay committed, and serve the community with fresh, homegrown food. His drive and determination are beyond impressive, and we couldn’t be prouder.

If you stopped by the market this summer, you probably saw Wyatt with a big smile, sharing the fruits (and veggies!) of his labor. Wyatt is an awesome young entrepreneur and future leader.

TOMATO SANDWICH DAY IS STILL HAPPENING!
We are not going to let a little rain get us down! We had to relocate from the tents to underneath the market pavilion, but come on down for FREE tomato sandwiches and ice cold bottles of water AND be sure to shop all of your local farmers here at the Florence/Lauderdale Farmers Market at 451 Fairground Road
