Marin Community Farm Stands & CSA

We sell organic fruit, vegetables, greens, local grass fed beef, pork, lamb, wild line caught seafood, artisan breads, cheeses, yogurts, ice cream, pies.

Marin Community Farm Stands & CSA (MCFS), originally established in 2003, has for the past 18 years brought the bounty of local organic produce and artisan products to various towns, community centers, and private organizations throughout Marin County. We currently operate THE FARM STAND our year round seasonal market in the town of Forest Knolls, CA as well as seasonal satellite markets May thru

October in the towns of Ross, San Anselmo, San Geronimo and Woodacre. MCFS is an aggregator and creates Food Hubs throughout Marin County at its farm stands. What this means is that we represent over 41 local and regional organic farmers, ranchers and artisan producers and bring only certified organic produce to market under one farm stand. The advantages are many, but the most important ones are high quality certified organic produce from Marin growers, a small footprint in set-up and teardown, and we service communities that are too small and cannot support Certified Farmers Markets. This model allows for an extremely diverse farm stand to come to market without the impact and carbon footprint of many farmers trucking produce onto the site. A seasonal marketplace under one Farm Stand will represent many local Marin organic farms. “Many under one. MCFS is licensed through the California Department of Food and Agriculture and is regulated by Marin County Weights and Measures, the Agricultural Commissioner and Environmental Health Services. Our satellite Farm Stands consists of four to six 10' x 10' canopies and up to 20 tables to offer a one stop shop for our customers. MCFS only needs one parking spot for our refrigerated truck. We strive to offer the Marin County harvest but when certain staple products are not available in Marin, we go to the next closest farm within our bioregion, thereby weaving the growing communal web that unites local farmers and local tables.

Dear Friends,

I would like to personally invite you to our 10 Year Anniversary party in Forest Knolls. The event is on Saturday, October 12, 2024 from 12 noon till 7 PM.

We will be celebrating with an All Star Band that includes members of Dead & Co, Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros, Phil Lesh & Friends, Dark Star Orchestra, David Nelson Band, Moon Alice and Jefferson Starship. Plus Farm Stands specialty food vendors that includes Hog Island Oysters, Anna's Seafood, The Farmers Wife, Cute Coffee and much more. There will also be an exhibit in the Gallery showing the works of photographer Jay Blakesberg.

The entry to the event is free for the Farm Stand community but a suggested donation at the door to benefit the San Geronimo Valley Community Center would be greatly appreciated.

The San Geronimo Valley Community Center has made available their parking lot and there will also be parking available on School Road.

Dear Friends,

Your Christmas holiday pre-orders will be ready for pick up starting on Saturday 12/23 thru Sunday 12/24.

The Farm Stand will be able to offer fresh Washington whole cooked Dungeness crab for Christmas. Our crabs will be SECTIONED this year. We weigh our crabs after removing the outer shell known as the BACK and after we clean out the Vicera. All you have to do is crack and eat them.

I estimate crabs weighing around 2 pounds PLUS. Once cleaned and sectioned you loose roughly 30% of the original weight. So a 2 pound crab will end up weighing roughly 1.4 lbs when we price them for our customers. The price will be $22.00 lb. with an average cost of $30.80 per crab.

When you pick up your crab, the actual weight will determine your final cost. A small refund or additional charge may be necessary to insure the correct transaction total.
