“He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart.” — Isaiah 40:11 🐑

There’s something special about watching new life out in the pasture and being able to care for these animals from the very beginning.

Springtime on the farm is hard to beat.

Welcome to "Chicken Town".

So… what exactly is Chicken Town?

Over the past several months, we’ve been working on opening a USDA chicken processing facility right here in our community to support farms like ours raising pasture-raised birds the right way.

This has been a massive project behind the scenes and something we’ve poured an incredible amount of time, energy, and vision into. Our goal was simple:

Create a better processing option for small farms committed to raising clean, high-quality poultry with integrity.

Because the reality is, truly pasture-raised chicken is hard to scale locally when small farms have so few processing options available.

And now, after months of work…

Our chicken is officially restocked. 🐔

The chicken itself is the same pasture-raised chicken you already know and trust:
• Rotationally grazed on pasture
• Raised outdoors with fresh air and sunshine
• No antibiotics or vaccines
• No growth hormones
• Raised with intentional care from start to finish

But now, there’s a major upgrade…

Our chicken is now air chilled instead of water chilled.

Most grocery store chicken is chilled in large communal water tanks. Air chilling cools the birds individually with cold air instead, which means:
• Better flavor
• Crispier skin
• Better texture
• Higher meat-to-water ratio
• No extra retained water

It’s one of the reasons many chefs and premium poultry producers prefer air chilled chicken.

Now for the honest part…

You may notice the packaging looks a little different right now. As we train our new team and continue dialing everything in at the new facility, packaging is still a work in progress. Because of that, all chicken is currently 10% off.

The chicken itself, though, is the same high-quality chicken we’ve always been proud to raise - in many ways, even better.

This is a huge step forward not just for our farm, but for local food and the future of pasture-raised poultry in our community.

"Chickentown" is officially open. 🐔🔥

Vegetables and plants have arrived!

Come by tomorrow, Saturday May 2nd, from 9am to 2pm and celebrate spring with us and our very first harvest. This is something we have been working toward for a long time, and we are really excited to finally share it with you.

Grown right here on the farm, raised with the same care and intention as everything else we do.

We will continue to have vegetables, produce, and plants available moving forward, with fresh harvests each week and new items being added as the season goes on.

Come early before it’s all gone!

Lambing season is here, and it’s one of our favorite times of the year.

We’ve already had two sets of twins hit the ground, both healthy and already bouncing around like they’ve been here forever. Nothing beats stepping out into the pasture and seeing new life take off on fresh grass.

We’re grateful to be able to lamb them ourselves and raise them their entire lives right here. It means we can be intentional every step of the way, from how they’re cared for to how we steward the land they live on.

This is the heart of it for us. Spring’s off to a good start 🤍

For the first time, we’re officially offering vegetables grown right here on the farm.

This has been a long time coming.

These aren’t just “no spray” vegetables. They’re grown the same way we raise our animals. Thoughtfully, carefully, and in a system that works together. The soil is built using compost from our livestock, creating a natural, closed loop where everything has a purpose and nothing is wasted.

No pesticides. No chemicals. Nothing added that shouldn’t be there.

We’re starting with:
Kale
Collards
Radish
Hakurei turnips

And this is just the beginning.

As the season picks up, we’ll have fennel, celery, peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, basil, squash, and more more coming out of the ground.

We’ll also have potted plants available, including tomatoes, herbs, peppers, and an assortment of flowering plants so you can take a piece of the farm home with you.

Grown in a way that cares for the land and produces food you can feel good about feeding your family.

Available starting next Saturday, May 2nd in the farm store.

Spring is here, and the pasture is waking up.

Fresh green grass coming in, and the cows and sheep are right where they’re meant to be—heads down, moving slow, grazing the way they were designed to.

This is the season everything starts to come alive again 🌱

❄️ Farm Store Update ❄️

The farm store is open today, and we’ll be open the rest of the week with normal hours.

We’ve cleared the snow from the driveway and shoveled and salted the area in front of the store to make it as safe as possible. Please still take care when walking to the door, as winter conditions can always be unpredictable.

🚚 Deliveries are still happening tomorrow as scheduled.

We hope you’re all staying safe and warm after the storm, and we look forward to seeing you soon 🤍
