The woman who gave us young Appalachian girls hope.

Who could wear rhinestones, gems and beautiful clothes but at the heart was still just - a Mountain Girl. With values that loved Jesus loud and proud, and never treated others poorly despite what they believed. She was kind, generous and beautiful inside and out.

Thank you, Dolly. For showing young women like me from an early age that it’s okay to love and be proud of where we are from. And that our accents don’t define us or hold us back from doing big things!
