Not much new for produce yet….

1) Fresh cut "field run" asparagus. Field run means it goes from the field to the bag, and not sized or bunched...but always fresh cut. Since I’m not sure the quantity yet, we will start with 2 pound bags instead of 3 pound bags). There won’t be very much. Asparagus in the fridge will last several weeks if kept standing up in water). Pricing is $11/bag.

2) 2025 crop of the Montmorency frozen, pitted, no sugar added pie cherries. 2 # container makes one pie at $12; 2 containers for $21; 4 containers for $39. (These are awesome for pies, crisp; cobbler; and with vanilla yogurt or in protein smoothies. I even put them in my oatmeal!);

3) 2025 crop pinto beans. 1 # bag is $2;

6) I have a few large yellow and white onions and garlic (from fall storage) $1 ea;

7) We have few acorn, butternut, Delicata (“the sweet potato” squash and Matt’s favorite) - from fall storage from my uncle.

8.) Red beets, equivalent of a bunch (but topped) and in a bag (from fall storage) $4.50.

9) Rob's fresh eggs $6.50/doz.

10) Russet, red and Yukon potatoes (from fall storage) $5/handled bag.

**DROUGHT RESISTANT STRAWBERRY PLANTS (bare root) this week!! Ready to plant. These are "day neutral" - which means they will start producing this year (instead of waiting a year) and will continue to produce and ripen all season. I always include a home planting tip sheet too. 10 plants for $29; 20 plants for $49; 50 plants for $100. (Compare the "big box stores" sell these for over $4 each plant.) NOT MANY LEFT!

**RHUBARB CROWNS too (bare root) and ready to plant as well at $15 ea or 2/$25. (As a reminder, you should wait 2 years, 3 is better) before harvesting any rhubarb) so the roots can establish correctly.

***HERBS: basil; rosemary; thyme; sage; oregano and beefsteak tomatoes!

Please PM me to order. We do cash or check at pick up; Venmo in a pinch. Sorry, no debit or credit cards.

Please specify quantity of each item so we know how much to pick as needed, AND what day you are picking up please : )

My office for the day helping mom and dad (83 years old) and still farming at Martindale Farms and Farm Fresh CSA Box.

(Turns out I had three “office changes” today in three different tractors. Mom and dad in the other tractor…me planting in the small John Deere with the “precision planter” 33… a series of sprockets and chains, gears and bike chain and a chart for math. Managed to get the next patches of broccoli, kale and kohlrabi in. Ready for the next patches of cauliflower too - likely on Thr. Mom and dad transplanting kohlrabi and Brussels sprouts today with the other tractor in the distance).

Nope, that is in the Delta area (Hotchkiss, etc). This is about 50 miles outside of Palisade. I’ve already talked to several of my fruit growers in Palisade, and they are fine.

NO FROST!

In fact, they are really upset at this article BECAUSE the same reporter that talked to them, and even after being told they are fine in Palisade, chose to spin the article as negative (clicks) and lump all of the western slope together as a loss. This is shameful!

We at Farm Fresh CSA Box will have Palisade peaches and fruit no problem!!
