Yes please with jalapeños from Farm Fresh CSA Box~

Bourbon Bacon Cowboy Candy🥃🥓🌶️

You guys asked for this one so here you go!!!

RECIPE:
- 10 jalapeños; sliced
- 1 package of bacon
- 2 oz bourbon (or however much you like)
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 2 tbsp apple c***r vinegar
- 1 tbsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1/2 jar apricot preserves
- 1 tsp honey

1) thinly slice jalapeños and smoke at 250 degrees for 45 minutes
2) cook bacon in a sauce pan and drain grease
3) add bourbon, light brown sugar, apple c***r vinegar, black pepper, minced garlic, apricot preserves, and honey
4) stir and simmer for 10 minutes
5) add smoked jalapeños to pan
6) simmer for 15 minutes
7) refrigerate for 2 hours
😎 top on burgers, cream cheese, or anything you want!

LOTS of cantaloupe and watermelon (large red SEEDED Sangria too!) which are awesome! LOTS of gorgeous dill! Cucumbers; topped red beets; topped golden beets; green beans; peaches and cream SWEET CORN; grilling onions (yellow, red and white) and sold by the bunch); carrots; Beefsteak tomatoes; (NEW) green tomatoes (for fried green tomatoes); romaine lettuce; cilantro; salad slicing pickles; zucchini; yellow summer squash; green and red cabbage; sorreno chili (hot); LOTS of jalapeños (medium/hot); poblano chili peppers (medium); baby Yukon gold and baby red potatoes; leeks; russet potatoes; (NEW) green bell peppers; (NEW) eggplant; (NEW) sweet “Gypsy” peppers.

*NEW- yep it’s almost fall! Today we picked the first WINTER SQUASH - acorn, butternut, spaghetti and Delicata aka “the sweet potato squash” (Matt’s favorite).

Also cut a little bit of broccoli this afternoon! Picked a few jumbo grape and yellow pear tomatoes too!

FRUIT EXTRAS: Bartlett pears; apples (wildfire gala). A few black friar plums; Italian prune plums; pluots.

*NEW: Local honey (8oz) in 1/2 pint glass jars! (From local alfalfa fields. Slight earthy tone finished with a slight toasted marshmallow / salted caramel finish. “Hive to table” ran through one filter to keep it in its raw natural state). $12 ea.

**NEW: Authentic Pueblo fire roasted chili (mild and medium) fresh picked, rinsed, peeled and sold in in 1 pound bags. Frozen and ready!

***NEW: Authentic Pueblo chili powder (red made from red mirasol chili and green made from green jalapeño chilis).

*Thai lettuce wraps (ground turkey) on a bed of lettuce, topped with diced salad slicing pickles and a light drizzle of coconut aminos with a dash of lime juice;

*Coconut rice in the instant-pot;

*More veggies…I sautéed thinly sliced yellow Gypsy peppers, a thinly sliced red Marconi pepper with a shaved yellow onion, then “flash steamed” for about 3 minutes lots of green beans, removed from heat then added chopped dates and hint of lemon /garlic.

Was tasty indeed : )

More produce we (Farm Fresh CSA Box and Martindale Farms) include in our veggie box and how I use the veggies we grow:

For lunch (and dinner):

*kohlrabi; carrots; green beans; sliced grilling onion; chopped sweet “Gypsy” peppers; yellow summer squash) then add in two chicken breasts with a pineapple marinade for a tasty stir fry on a bed of brown rice.

Ok…one more as Palisade peach season draws near….

RECIPE:

This grilled chicken salad features peaches, smoky corn, and a lime-basil vinaigrette tossed with arugula, blueberries, pecans, and feta. It’s gluten-free, and can be served as a side or a main dish.
