In response to our recent poster contest:

We understand that AI is top of mind, and we appreciate the community sharing concerns about ensuring artists are recognized and honored for their work. We verified that none of the three winning entries were created using AI by reviewing detailed photos of the artistic process, including a carved linocut. These pieces were created by local artists, and we are grateful for the time, creativity, and care they put into their submissions.

We also want to ask our community to support one another and avoid disparaging artwork based on assumptions. Conversations about art, technology, and creativity are important, but we hope they can happen with respect, curiosity, and kindness.

We removed our previous post because some of the discussion shifted toward comments that did not reflect the supportive community we strive to foster, and was not the intention of this collaborative and community-driven contest.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped celebrate the creativity of our local artists.
