🚨 Happy Monday, everyone! 🚨
Long post alert! 😊
We know many of you have been anxiously awaiting peas! We get so many questions about them, and we completely understand—they're delicious and just make your heart sing SUMMER! ☀️🌱
So here's the update: our peas are on a brief hiatus.
Our first planting produced much less than we anticipated, thanks in large part to this year's wacky weather. While all the rain was certainly helpful, too much of it—especially without much sunshine—really slowed things down.
Then, just as the plants started flowering and producing (the stage when they need the most water), we were hit with hot, dry weather. We do irrigate, but it was just so stinking hot that it slowed the plants down once again.
Long story short... our first pea planting had a rough start.
BUT FEAR NOT! 💚
We planned ahead this year and planted a second and third crop of peas! We know how much everyone loves them, so we staggered our plantings in hopes of extending pea season. We're optimistic that we'll have fresh peas available again very soon! The recent rain has definitely helped, we're keeping everything watered on the dry days, and we're hoping these cooler temperatures will give the plants the boost they need.
As always—and we truly can't say it enough—THANK YOU! Your support means the world to our family. We appreciate every visit to the farm stand, every kind word, and every purchase. We'll continue working hard to bring you the fresh summertime goodness you know and love, and we'll keep you updated over the next few days.
In the meantime, we have fresh eggs, dilly beans, and garlic scapes available in the farm stand.
Have a wonderful week! 💚🌿
