Our company RNT Commercials Ltd., partnering with AEG, is the sole distributor in Nigeria for the solar energy lighting system called Firefly PayGo.
Our mission is to address the power deficit in Nigeria whilst aiming to reduce the constraints on the education of Nigerian children.
Firefly PayGo is manufactured by an American company, AEG International. It is designed to provide affordable and convenient renewable energy supply for all categories of users in both rural and urban settlements. Since this is an American product, the quality, reliability and durability are guaranteed!

Please take note of the following:
- Other products use the Lead Acid battery and the life of that battery is very limited. It is nowhere near the Lithium Ion Phosphate battery technology that is used in our Firefly.
- Our American engineered Firefly panel (50 watts - polycrystalline), is guaranteed to last for 25 years depending on daily use and you do not have to worry about how you charge and discharge.
- If you use Firefly PAYGo for 12 hours daily, the Lithium Ion Phosphate battery ( 247 watts), will last for 5 years compared to the Lead acid technology that is very dependent on the depth of discharge of batteries which even when used sparingly, might last for just 2 years max. With this in mind, our product is much more superior to the competition and as such, the end user can safely rely on it since it will keep working unlike the cheaper products which stop working too soon. The cost of replacing the battery after a 5-year guaranteed usage is around $65 or its Naira equivalent.
- When you factor in the cost of replacement, we are the better choice any day of the week.
Each kit sells for $450. Our PAYGo plan allows users to pay for the product in flexible, affordable installments over a period of 3, 6 or 9 months. Payment in full will be encouraged so you can fully own the kit without much delay. (See below).

Commonly Asked Questions:
- 5 bulbs: There are 5 bulbs, each with a 5m extension cable included. An extra 5m cable ($4.99 each) can be purchased if a bulb is required to reach further.
- Charging ports: The Firefly has two USB charging ports. If you plug a multi-hub to the charging ports i.e. multiple USB devices charging simultaneously from the two ports, the charging time will be increased as devices will charge a bit slower.
- Fan: The Firefly can power one 12-volt fan.
- TV: The ideal TV size that can be powered by Firefly is 19 to 25 inches and it must be 12 volts.
- Cigarette Lighter Adapter: This is available to purchase separately ($5.99 each) and it can be plugged into one light port. It is then ready to connect to your 12-volt device which has the male connector.
- Electric Shaver/Clippers: The cigarette lighter adaptor can also be used to power clippers.
- Panel and Control Box: The panel can also be charged with regular electricity whenever necessary while an extension cable ($6.99 each) can be purchased if the panel must be placed further than 5m from the Control Box.
- Air conditioning/Refrigerator: These appliances consume a lot of power. The firefly cannot power Air-conditioner or Refrigerator.
