Continuing with our highlight of Life Extension Foundation products this week are two products for optimal B12 and Folate supplementation. Not all vitamin B forms are the same. Vitamin B12, for instance, has multiple forms, including cyanocobalamin, methylcobalamin, and adensosylcobalamin. The cyanocobalamin form has fallen out of favor since it must be converted by the body into more active forms (some people lack the enzymes to do so), while as methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalmin are already biologically active. Of the two, methylcobalamin has an enormous amount of study as the main methylated form used in the body, but more recently clinical studies are also showing that adenosylcobalamin is an active B12 form with its own unique properties (such as adenosylcobalamin-bound enzymes may hold regulatory function of DNA and RNA). The Life Extension B12 Elite contains equal parts of both of these B12 forms. The Life Extension Optimized Folate product additional provides the superior methylated form of Folate that is biologically active to support brain and nervous system health (as opposed to generic folic acid forms).

We're spotlighting Life Extension Foundation products this week, starting with some of the male health formulas. The Natural Prostate Formula and the Saw Palmetto formula are both high in beta-sitoserol that several studies have shown inhibits the activity of 5-alpha-reductase enzymes that convert testosterone over to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). When DHT is too high in males it can lead to an enlarged prostate over time (in addition to thinning of head hair and increase in body hair), as well as take some supply of testosterone away as it converts over to DHT. Getting a hormone panel blood test is the best way to determine your testosterone and DHT levels, in addition to other hormones, to see what might not be in optimal range. The Testosterone Elite product here works on a totally different principle as the beta-sitoserol based products by utilizing ingredients that studies have shown may help support actual testosterone production in the body. Many customers use DHT-inhibiting products along with testosterone-boosting products to keep their levels in check.

We just got a nice, big delivery of the McFadyen Manor Homestead, LLC raw milk (in both the glass half gallons and the carton half gallons) and additionally we have a nice supply of the Moonpie Farm & Creamery raw milk in the carton half gallons, so we are fully stocked on raw milk! Both farms are local and the milk from both are from A2/A2 Jersey cows. These always go fast, so come in while we still have a good supply!

We have raw milk again! We just had a delivery from Moonpie Farm (locally based out of Cottondale, FL) and they will go fast! We're still hoping to also have a delivery from McFadyen Manor Homestead later this week as their cows are beginning to produce more again, so between the two farms we're hoping to soon have a good weekly supply going. Milk from both farms are produced by Jersey A2/A2 cows and are retailed for the same price at our store. The Moonpie Farms milk comes in the half gallon carton and when we have McFadyen milk back in we'll have the half gallon carton and the half gallon glass options as always.

Hi all, while we currently don't yet have the raw milk back in stock due to temporarily low production of the cows during this hot part of summer, we do have in "almost raw" organic milk from Kalona that is low-temp pasteurized (141° versus 161, 191, or 280 temps used in other methods) to preserve many of the delicate nutrients and enzymes of the milk. We're keeping it at the same price that the half gallon carton of raw milk sells for. We do hope to get raw milk back in soon, but in the meantime we do have this as an option!

Thanks so much to everyone who called and wrote into the office of Governor Ron DeSantis to encourage him to veto Senate Bill 1698... we were heard! The governor vetoed the bill this week, allowing us to continue selling a wide range of cannabis products, including Delta-8, Delta-9, and full-spectrum CBD formulas over the counter. Had the bill become law (which it almost did if not for the veto), it would have completely eliminated Delta-8-THC products from the Florida market and severely limited even moderate dose Delta-9-THC products (including higher dose, full-spectrum CBD products that include Delta-9 as part of the cannabinoid spectrum) except in medical dispensary settings. We are thankful that the bill was vetoed and our customers can still get these higher potency products at the Golden Almond without a prescription.
