History of
⭐⭐⭐🌟🌟🌟
It began with the discovery of two critical principles: the first, the camera obscura, and the second, the discovery that some materials change visibly when exposed to light.[2] There are no artifacts or descriptions that indicate any attempt to record images with light-sensitive materials before the 18th century.
A view of a window in Le Gras, 1826 or 1827, believed to be the first surviving photograph taken with a camera. [1] Original re-enhanced (left) and colorized (right).
Around 1717, Johann Heinrich Schulze used a light-sensitive plate to record images of letters cut into bottles. However, he did not seek to make these results permanent. Around 1800, Thomas Wedgwood made the first reliable, albeit unsuccessful, attempt to permanently record camera images. His experiments produced detailed photographs, but Wedgwood and his colleague Humphrey Davy could not find a way to repair these images. In 1826, Nicéphore Niépce first succeeded in repairing an image taken with a camera, but it took at least eight hours or even days of exposure to the camera, and the first results were very crude. Niépce's colleague Louis Daguerre developed the daguerreotype process, the first commercially viable photographic process. The daguerreotype required only a few minutes of exposure to the camera and produced clear, detailed results. On 2 August 1839, Daguerre demonstrated the details of the process to the Chamber of Peers in Paris. On 19 August, the technical details were made public at a meeting of the Académie des Sciences and the Académie des Beaux-Arts at the Palais des Institut. (For granting the rights to their inventions to the public, Daguerre and Niépce were granted generous annuities for life.)[3][4][5] When the metal-based daguerreotype process was officially demonstrated to the public, the rival approach
