Nestled among the storefronts just east of Franklin Avenue, T&F Pork Store could easily be just another store along the trail. The irony is that it has been at the exact same location now for 43 years and it would be difficult to find a local resident who doesn’t know precisely where this Franklin Square institution is. has been slicing everything from cold cuts to pork cutlets for the community since 1970. But their real claim to fame, according to co-owner John Carlino, is that “Nobody, but nobody, beats T&F’s homemade sausage!”

“When we say homemade, we mean homemade,” John says. “Our recipe came from our grandfather in Siciliy. He would make it in his house, all natural... no preservatives.”

“People who like to cook at home like coming here because they recognize our quality,” says co-owner Steve Carlino. “Their loyalty is a testament to what we do and we appreciate it.”

There is no second best the for the Carlino boys. In the glass cases T&F Pork Store offers only prime USDA Choice meats and carries Bell & Evans Chicken exclusively. “If we don’t eat it, we won’t sell it.” Over the years, the two cousins have also built a reputation for their own cooking through their catering. “We do everything from 12 different party heros to 50 of our own signature dishes available in full & half trays,” Steve says. When it comes to the catering, T&F offers free delivery and with setup included. “We arrive with a smile and won’t leave until you are smiling as well,” John says. Over the years, John and Steve have always held that with success it is their responsibility to give back to the community. The store has been a perennial sponsor of The Franklin Square Warriors and an eight-year sponsor of FSMA (Families with Spinal Muscular Atrophy). John and Steve are also members of the Franklin Square Chamber of Commerce, and annual supporters of the Franklin Square Street Fair. In fact, every fall when the Fair arrives on Franklin Avenue, you can count on John being there serving up T&F’s famous sausage & peppers.
