Mississippi Sloppy Joes on Garlic Bread
Ingredients:
* 1.5 lbs (680 g) ground beef
* 1 packet (1 oz / 28 g) dry ranch dressing mix
* 1 packet (1 oz / 28 g) au jus gravy mix
* 1/2 cup (120 g) sliced pepperoncini peppers
* 1/4 cup (60 ml) pepperoncini juice from the jar
* 1/2 cup (120 ml) beef broth
* 1/4 cup (60 g) unsalted butter, cubed
* 1 box (11.25 oz / 318 g) frozen thick-cut garlic bread
* 1.5 cups (150 g) shredded provolone cheese
Directions:
Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat until fully cooked, then drain the excess grease.
Reduce the heat to medium-low and stir the ranch mix, au jus mix, pepperoncinis, pepperoncini juice, and beef broth into the meat.
Scatter the cubed butter over the top of the beef mixture and let it gently melt into the liquid.
Simmer the mixture uncovered for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the liquid reduces into a thick, sloppy joe consistency.
Bake the frozen garlic bread slices on a baking sheet according to the package directions while the meat simmers.
Spoon the thickened Mississippi beef mixture generously over the hot, toasted garlic bread slices.
Sprinkle the shredded provolone cheese evenly over the top of the savory meat.
Return the baking sheet to the oven for 3 minutes just until the cheese is completely melted and bubbling.
Remove from the oven and let the open-faced sandwiches rest for 5 minutes to let the sauce set before serving.

Tips:
Drain the ground beef very thoroughly before adding the seasoning packets and butter to ensure your sauce becomes rich and savory instead of excessively greasy.
Let the assembled sloppy joes rest on the baking sheet for exactly 5 minutes before eating, which gives the rich gravy time to cling to the meat without making the garlic bread instantly soggy.
