🌱🐄💚100% Grass-fed steaks, brisket, and ground beef from Olde Frontier Farms are now available in our store! We are the first and only retail location currently carrying their products!

Olde Frontier is a small family farm here in Fruita processing through Mountain Meats. Their beef is rich-tasting with a touch of sweetness. Their cows are fed a high-quality grass diet and are treated humanely. Look for the red writing on the freezer to find their section!

We are absolutely speechless that the fundraiser for The Bread Mine bakery’s new oven is already almost halfway there… the link is in our bio if you are able to help us get there. We are astonished at the overwhelming amount of love coming from our community. THANK YOU for helping us support Ramona and the bakery.

A fundraiser has been organized by the staff at Skip’s Farm to Market to support our colleague and long-time friend, Ramona Weiss and her bakery, The Bread Mine.

Members of the Fruita community are aware of the very long journey it has been to prepare the building next door to Skip’s to become a bakery. After years of struggling with the downsides of historic building restoration and a steady onslaught of other structural complications, the building itself is now finished and ready for the public. However, now that everything else has fallen into place, another setback has occurred as the primary bread oven now needs unexpected repairs beyond Ramona and The Bread Mine’s means. The most feasible way forward now would be to purchase an entirely new bread oven, which cannot be done without additional support from the community.

At Skip’s, we feel that The Bread Mine is really needed in Fruita, and without a new bread oven, The Bread Mine will never be able to meet the demands of the community. We feel the disappointment and frustration deeply as many people have worked so hard and for so long for this, especially Ramona herself.

Ramona’s artisan sourdough is not just good bread, it’s real quality food that comes from years of practicing the art of baking. The Bread Mine stands to put emphases back on the value of a trade done well. We know that people who love Ramona’s bread understand what goes into it and why it is important. We also believe that those who haven’t had it yet should have the opportunity. “Made with love,” doesn’t begin to cover it.

The Bread Mine will also bring people into the downtown area and not only encourage commerce but will provide another vital point of congregation for the people of Fruita.

We really want to see this happen for Fruita, and for Ramona, who has persisted amazingly through setback after setback. We want to encourage you to back Ramona and The Bread Mine as well and give if you can. Anything is appreciated and will go directly towards getting a new oven. Sharing this fundraiser will also help a lot.

We thank you for considering making a contribution via the link in our bio.
